That's not really an issue here.  ME1 was rated 12 by the BBFC.

oh wanted to see some hot alien-human action. Dang.
To be honest though, I think CDProjekt was over the top with Witcher 2 sex scenes, only the one with Triss was worth a damn.
I found ME1 scene perfect though, no idea why Americans found that offending lol. It's game for adults after all.

Disappointing, really. Bioware really goes down the politically correct route to please the American market, probably EA's fault.

Still, pre-order not cancelled.

I don't get it either. Our standards here in the US baffle me. Apparently a naked body is more troubling or detremental for a person to see than hours of blood and gore and death. Or in the case of MW2, playing as a terrorist and killing innocent civilians. WHAT?! That's passable but some naked polygons will get your game slapped with an Adults Only rating and can't be sold in stores? Huh?

I just cant understand why its ok to shoot heads off from peoples shoulders but a naked body is "too much"...

I really loved the me1 romance scene inside the Captains Quarter. It was so aesthetic and romantic...

Why, though, should there be an arbitrary minimum age of 18 (or rather 17 in the US) when kids well under those ages have been handling this kind of content in this game or other media for years? The truth of the matter is that Mass Effect isn't even an explicit series. It never has been. You can have ME1-style sex scenes without damaging a kid, and I am of the opinion that sheltering them from something as tame as those would be damaging within itself.

If this were an action Japanese RPG, the sex scenes would be hardcore and 10x more revealing than ME1's sex scenes.

My guess is, real sex scenes with nudity actually take quite a lot effort and resources. You need naked appearances for everyone involved, you need a lot of interacting animations without clipping, which work for a variety of Shepards.

In ME1, they recycled a lot, which cuts down on resources needed. But given how Shepard's options have become more varied, that's not really possible any more. You can't just swap Tali, Thane and Garrus around in the same scene.

Kinect, MP, action/story modes and day-1 dlc also takes up resources. Maybe they could have used some of those for this.
