Anyone else waiting until reviews are out before getting this?

Firstly I'm not even sure if I'll get this to begin with thanks to the exploitive day-1 DLC, but putting that aside, BioWare really hasn't impressed me lately. DA2 was a disappointment and SW:TOR is a less-than WoW. Frankly, the last BW game I enjoyed was Dragon Age Origins. I just don't see a reason to expect a whole lot out of Mass Effect 3.

No, pre-ordered ages/months ago.

Honestly if you wanted to pre-order the game you should have done it when (most) retailers had the copies in stock instead of waiting just saying.
But i understand how you feel OP, DA2 gives me bad memories aswell <_<

What's the downside to waiting? It's not like they will run out of copies. CDs aren't exactly hard to mass-produce.

It's not a bad idea to wait until the reviews start pouring in, although I wouldn't place too much stock in official reviews alone.

As for myself, I pre-ordered and paid for a Standard Edition copy. I didn't feel the Collector's Edition was worth the money (but then again, I usually don't).

Purchase pending.
One drawback for me is the spoilers. If I wait long enough I might... dunno, come across a THREAD TITLE that will turn me to rage...

Well you can check out my review on YouTube if you so choose. DoubtedCarrot is the name. It will be up hopefully 3-4 days after release. Depends on when I get it from delivered (Hate that about college needing to order through a retailer close to my parents.)

Nah, I have a nice amount of extra money, so buying this game won't screw my wallet.
If its good: Perfect. If not: Not a big loss, move along.

Ordered before 2012 kicked in, had money ready since i finished ME2. Collectors Edition pre-order, after the improvement i saw from ME2 compared to ME1 there was no other choice.

The downside of waiting until less then a week until release is the game (even SE) will have being sold out almost everywhere, (with a few retailer as exceptions though ofc) and so means the retailers won't prolly have the game in stock until some weeks after the game was released. (think 1-3 weeks after release for exsample).

$60 is $60. No sense in spending money on a game you won't enjoy regardless of how much money you have. Also there will be a price drop in a couple months anyway.

either which way.. it's way better product then whole lot of other stuff on the market, from story, choices and consequences, voice-overs (especially fem shep) it's an adventure worth getting straight off and even bad reviews would not put me off to get it day one. After all, I do not care what other people think of the game, only how much I enjoy in it, and so far, I had a whole lot of fun playing it and I do not see it disappointing me beyond how well the story ends (regardless if it's good, sad, bittersweet, or w/e else they planned for it) as long as it's not stupid nor illogical.

Nah. Most big places won't run out of copies. You think every copy in your town will be sold out? Every Walmart, GameStop, Target, Best Buy, and so on? Doubtful. Even if so, there's always Amazon and cheap two-day delivery.

Even still, I personally won't be waiting. I'll be getting my collector's edition around 10 AM the morning of the 6th and as far as I'm concerned, 10 hours is long enough to wait after "launch" as it is!

Are you kidding? New games haven't been scarce since the advent of CD-gaming. What, companies would intentionally make their game rare to prohibit people from buying them? It costs maybe 25 cents to make a copy of a game, case, and manual. I guarantee you that several weeks after the game is out there will still be copies on the shelves.

Not to mention if you're a PC gamer, in that case the stock is unlimited beause you can just download it.

Sadly Bioware is like an abusive ex, every time I say it wont happen again but when she comes around I'm right there waiting. Demo at least made me think it wasn't going to be horrible.

That never happens. CE sure but I can't recall ever walking into a supermarket on release day and not being able to get a copy of anything that was on their stock list.

One time the town branch of Asda was out of FF:Heroes of Light, the store about a mile away had it. Of course it depends on your location, but it's a non issue for most city dwellers.

I have some advice for you.  Don't buy the game.  Save your money and go buy diablo 3 or something like that.
Or you could just keep playing WOW for 180 bucks a year.
