I usually do. I been burned on pre-orders before, and don't feel like it happening again.

But Bioware has me hell bent on finishing my Shep's story, or multiple versions of it I should say. So I'm biting the bullet and pre-ordered it sight unseen.

That being said-I for-worn you all, every-game I have pre-ordered or been part of the beta testing crew has either been crap or was cancelled. So if ME3 turns into some choppy-frame rate stuttering sound mess-you can blame me for jinxing it.

Waiting till it is cheaper (xbox) at best at the moment and then won't be able to play my main Shepards as they are on PC unless I'll manage to transfer them to xbox.

Even after being completely BURNED on the DA2 CE, oh gosh even thinking about that makes me mad, I still had ME3 CE preordered...

That is, until they started in on the Origin cancer and Day 1 DLC crap.

For now I won't be buying it, and only will play it (with a friend's copy) because I've invested too much time and energy in the series not to.

EA is a bad corporate citizen, and they don't deserve my money.

People (okay, you specifically, OP) need to stop blaming Bioware for DA 2. Yes, DA 2 had the Bioware label on it, and yes, it was less-than-stellar and yes, the product we all got was unworthy of all the hype that preceded it, but ME 3 has been done by totally different people. Different artists, programmers and writers. A different game, in essence.
Which isn't to say that you should run off now to pre-order ME 3, of course. If you feel that not buying ME 3 is a good way of punishing Bioware for the mess that was DA 2, then go ahead. Do that. Just don't judge every Bioware title because of one bad apple.

In 2010 I said ME3 would be the last game I purchased day 1. I went against that and purchased DX:HR and I'm glad I did, but ME3 is the last day 1 purchase for me. I didn't purchase Uncharted 3, Gears 3 and a couple of other new games day 1 but this is ME3. I'm not even going to purchase Darksiders 2 or Prey 2 (if it ever gets released) day 1. It ends with ME3.

hard core fanboys who think bioware can do no wrong will get it day 1. People that loved ME1 and Me2 but are a little concerned over the way things have been going concerning ME3 will probably wait and see. I am going to wait and see. The face import issues, day 1 dlc, the stuff about a very large lack of dialog options.. It's all just to much to justify buying it right on the release day.

it has nothing to do with permission. Sometimes, when people get really passionate about something, they begin to lose perspective. Especially here in the forums, this lack of perspective translates to people becoming defensive and drawing very stark lines between those who agree with them and "the enemy."

So sad and so true. We should all mellow out. I'm not saying we all sit around a campfire and toast s'mores, but less hate would make this forum so much better.

I'll be waiting till it's on sale. I'm not impressed with what I've seen so far(demo, preview, streams) but I want to see how it ends so when it's cheap enough I'll buy it.

Seeing as the first two were so horrible, we definitely have to do a wait and see with this one. :P

If you liked Mass Effect 2 and played the demo for this, you already know you're going to like this, and Mass Effect was never intended to be so open-ended as to rival DA.

DA is peasant food compared to Mass Effect. Trilogy vs single game...not even comparable. DA was good, but ME is infinitely better.

Of all the negativities this game has been receiving, you're certainly asking a logical and rational question here. However, what answer do you expect to get from a bunch of hot blooded BW ME fans here? We're having a discussion on BSN and at the a time prior to release date. Our actions here already speak clearly for ourselves. I'm sure you can make up your own decision. If you can wait, why not?

Personally, I've cancelled my pre-order CE. I'm one of the many dissapointed fans. Our journey on ME have come this far, it's hard to let go of our attached feelings at this point. It's easily predictable for BW to know what we feel about ME franchise based on the success of the past two games, hence they've made some bold decisions that they knew it will make a lot of controversy. Based on the success of this franchise up until this point and the fan base, it's obviously in favor of BW to do whatever they want and we have no choice but to continue support ME3 as the final installment of the series.

Firstly I'm not even sure if I'll get this to begin with thanks to the exploitive day-1 DLC, but putting that aside, BioWare really hasn't impressed me lately. DA2 was a disappointment and SW:TOR is a less-than WoW. Frankly, the last BW game I enjoyed was Dragon Age Origins. I just don't see a reason to expect a whole lot out of Mass Effect 3.

Yup the day 1 DLC was my last straw.  I'm going to wait for reviewers I trust and see what they say and even then I'm gonna wait till its cheaper.
My days of pre-ordering are over period.

All the negative press? Are you joking? It's been praised by IGN, Gamestar, and Game Informer already.

I'm definitely waiting for reviews. ME3 gameplay looks like it could be a lot of fun, and I'd buy just for that... but, the story is going to suck so badly. I could skip the cutscenes, but choices supposedly matter for the first time in the series, in which case I need to watch them to make informed choices... urgh! I'll need to read reviews to learn more before I buy.
