Remember when DA2 came out and the first few reviews were 94-95 range?

It'll be awhile before the 'real' reviews come out, from the fans and from segments of the gaming review community that aren't dependent on exclusives and keeping big companies happy.

It still chaffs my ass that DA2 had a 94 from PC gamer (one of my favorite magazines) to put on its cover.

Sounds reasonable.

But do not intend to IGN's Review because of their deal with bioware about Chobot/Snooki!

BW hired a former IGN "journalist" who gave DA2 an 8.5 too.

Gamespot and Machinima are the only big reviewers I would consider to be fair.

This place will be very interesting come Wednesday.

I bet it will get 9/10 everywhere, and then suddenly gamespot will give it a 7.5 or so. Or even a 7.0.

Depends on who's reviewing it. Kevin van Ord is always very fair, completely unbiased, and gives the score the game deserves.

Also, he actually reviews the game, he doesn't just tell us what the game is.

Gamespot reviews are mostly fair and trustworthy.

I think scoring must be like this:

10 is masterpiece, not perfect.
9 is excellent
8 is very good game
7 is a good game (but a significant percentage don't like it)
6 is mediocre only a few may like it
5 is bad (only idiots like it!)
below 5 (throw in the garbage)

How can a game get a 4? Just by being developed, having a gameplay, graphic and sound effects and kind of music (Although all of them are garbage)

Placed my preorder a couple od Weeks ago(I dont see the point of preordering a year in advance)
I just want to see how it ends regardless oh weather its the best or the worst of the series.
I do hope the mass effect franchise does not end with this game I'm a huge science fiction fan and the mass effect universe has more potential than just Shepherd vs the reapers imo.

I don't like to make decisions based on scores.

I look for facts and information to make a decision about what I might like, dislike or even not care. After that I balance all the information I have to determine whether the game interests me or not.

I have played the previous Mass Effect games and like what I'm hearing about this one. I'm a fan so I like what came before, and from what I know about this one I will likely love it just as much.

We shouldn't generalize everything in the form of either you like it and are a fanboy or you don't and are a hater.

The game will most likely have some flaws, but it's up to each of us to figure out what we are willing to withstand to be able to enjoy the game.

I find that GameTrailers's reviews are very fair. I like them because they don't succumb to the  9-10 scale ppl seem to rate "good games" with recently. I don't think I've ever seen them give a game higher than 9.4, at least not any recent game. And their reviews are very detailed, especially for being only video based.

I already preordered and to be honest after losing so much of my life in ME1 and ME2 over and over I could care less about the review score for Mass Effect 3. All I want is to experience the final chapter and see how the decisions I made in the previous games play out. I don't think I will even watch any reviews when they go live tomorrow

It's a Bioware game noone will give it a bad review because EA bought their review.

Gamespot is full of **** as far as I am concerned. One need only look at their video game awards for last year.

Gametrailers quite fair in their reviews, for the most part, and they have never given a game a 10/10 score which is good.

If they give ME3 even as low as '8' so they've risked their balls! :bandit:

To be frank many people who have played ME3 so far, and I am not talking of reviewers here, have said it's great.

Waiting to read reviews. Also waiting to find out what happens when you import a ME1 save - what ME2 decisions does it make?

Nope, N7 Edition day one. Besides, I buy and play a game to make my own judgements. If I don't like it? Oh well, I'd rather waste the money than listen to a half-baked gaming journalist an constantly wonder if I made the right decision.

I think cat is out of the bag now. Those reviews are worth ****. They fail to mention the glaring flaws of the game.

Sady, I think Bioware is now on my "Always get reviews / fan feedback before considering" category.

It's already slipped from "Of course, it'll be good! Just get it!" (BG, ME1, DA:O, ME2) to "It'll almost certainly get purchased, but it never hurts to check out previews / spoilers first!" (varying DLCs, DA2 ).
