If I agree with a review score, it's honest.

I also hate how many people always relate to metacritics. A platform like this only shows the opinion of the mass. And its funny how many people think that the mass is right. DA2 is a good example for that. So many people gave it a low score cause of disappiontment and not how good the game really is. DA2 is a good game, even though its not outstanding or a must buy. Scores tell you almost nothing about a game, read the reviews and you get so much more information if you could like the game...Abisco wrote...

Really, how can you guys take these reviews seriously, Given how much corruption there is in the video game review industry. I'd suggest waiting to see what everyday users have to say about the game, They are your most unbiased opinions that you will get.
Yeah, cause Metacritics userscore for DA2 of 4.4 is a clear indicator that user scores are much less bias.
And yes, I know I'll be attacked for defending DA2, but its not a 4.4 / 10. It's more like a 6.5
Users are incredibly ridiculous in their scores, reaching to either side of an extreme...
Reviewers are better when you find one that you agree with.

Exactly. I just can't stand people thinking USERS are a better indication then critics, when both have credibility in their own right.

The rpoblem with the user scores is that they're self selecting. If you picked a 100 people (ideally more) at random who've played DA2 and asked them to rate it, that's how you'd get a decent view of what people think of it.

Several websites (like 4chan) review bomb/troll games with 0's in mass. That being said, I agree that DAII was mostly a crappy game and Bioware's worst. I hope they learned their lesson and I'm sure ME3 will get a 90% or above metacritic REVIEWER average.

In either case DA2 is still a rushed mediocre game that looks older than it's long in development predecessor. Scores of 0 are retarded and not objective, but neither are the top official reviews. It got what it deserved, eventhough I agree that the masses often enough can't apreciate quality. *cough*jersey shore*cough* fire fly cancelled...

Not really, I consider myself a core GAMER. I literally play everything, from Angry Birds to Civilization. Of course I play some genres more than others. I'm huge fighting games fan, RPG fan, Action Adventure fan and because of Valve and this generation, shooter fan. Because of this, my opinion and views coincides A LOT with critics. I'm not a n00b and consider myself unbiased mostly. Just as I don't agree with all this conspiracy theory about reviews. Mostly because, well, people don't usally seem to READ the reviews nowadays. In my opinion, when there are grades it's a matter of a text reflecting it to spot honesty or BS. Just pick your reviewers well if you want to give someone any credit.AdmiralCheez wrote...

We're zealots, the lot of us. ME3 will either be the Best Game Ever or Worst Game Ever in our eyes. We'll need to take the word of the n00bs on this one if we truly want something unbiased.

I don't think it's a "learned their lesson" type of thing. ME3 is made by a different team than DA2. The core of the ME3 team is largely the same as ME2 and to a lesser extent, ME1 (some turnover of jobs have to be taken into account). DA2 was made by the most of the core team that made DA:O (and probably added a lot of people due to the success of DA:O, which may have hurt more than it helped).

The absolute score can be hard to judge from these sources at times though-They have a tendency to do squirly stuff like have someone who never plays an RTS review an RTS game or some nonsense.
The big ones (PCGamer, IGN, Gamespot, what have you) are just under to much pressure (advertising revenue, exclusives, you name it) from the heavyweights to score AAA releases with anything resembling unbiased. They will knock 'em in the body of the review for stuff, it just will not effect the overall score.
Taking that into account, you kinda have to wait for a few reviews to come out and create an aggregate result in your head, ignoring the number scores from the big sites/mags.

Agreed. The score provides the flash of a review but ultimately the two or three pages of text and the actual "review" part is what I pay attention to. Unless of course the game gets a 3/10 or something. In which case I would only read the text part to laugh at all the comments of how bad it is.

Secondly, let's face it. ME3 is going to be awesome. I'm already addicted to the ME3 co-op demo, so even if the SP is terrible (which is not very likely at all), I will still be putting many minutes into this game.
Thirdly, I agree that a lot of the reviews on mainstream sites are becoming more and more suspect. I remember a day when I almost always agreed with Gamespot's scores - too bad their forums are full of disrespecting trolls.

I mean at least wait for Unreal Engine 4 to be release before calling that.

Yeah, but IGN doesn't have any good reviewers anymore.
Sad to see a once good site go down the crapper like that.

Next time, could you make your chain of events less epic? The aftermath forced me to walk 18 miles to find my shoes, and I'm still shaving green stuff off of my cat....
