Hi

Has anyone had trouble with getting Lloyd to die in the Redcliffe fight? I reloaded 3 times in the hopes he would die and he survived all 3 times. I first did the fight on, normal difficulty, then hard, then nightmare. The last time, I had everybody hold position except for Wynne and tried to avoid helping him. But what I noticed is the Walking Corpses completely ignore him! I just gave up and moved on but I'm thinking I should just murder knife next time.

On the good side, Bella still gives me free stuff. :)

I assume it's probably just luck of the draw. I've had Lloyd die in battle so it is possible. As for running past you, yeah the skeletons do tend to run right into the centre of the militia before turning round and actually trying to fight anyone.

Yeah you're right. I know he's died before on previous playthroughs. I just thought Lloyd dying in the battle was a sure thing. I tried going back and talking to him and he says something like "Talk to Bella! You put her in charge!" So I guess Bella gets the tavern after all? That's the reason I wanted him to die in the first place.

He normally dies quite easily. Maybe hold back for a minute.

For some reason, the undead will target the militia/Murdock over Lloyd in almost all circumstances. You could try stacking the odds by bumping up the difficulty setting and "accidentally" catching Lloyd in a few AoE spells from your mage though... ;)

Uhm, why do you want to kill him exactly?

The opposite for me. I usually have to have my healer reserve heals for him if I want him to live. Initially mobs focus Murdoch etc... but after the first wave they hang back behind the spikes while Lloyd charges in like a tank.

I could be wrong, but I think it has to do with how well you've equipped the militia (free ale, Maker's blessing) and how many additional men you recruited (Dwyn and his men, Tomas). I've only actually had Lloyd die on me once (except for that time where I stabbed him), and I think that was because the militia weren't as ready and I hadn't recruited any additional men. But not 100% sure about that.

Whoa. Just in Googling this I discovered that if you don't rescue Owen's daughter he kills himself and you get a better blacksmith with better inventory as a replacement. That is kind of awesome and horrible all at the same time. Note to self.

Well, I had a humorous experience with a very daring Lloyd during the Redcliffe battle- enough that I have to wonder if Lloyd is scripted to get himself killed. I was maybe 20th Level when I got there, so we were pretty much wiping the turf with zombies and were getting a lot of pauses between zombie butcherings. During those pauses, however, when all the soldiers would return to their fireside posts and stand at attention, Lloyd would take it upon himself to run off toward the docks. I thought it was just that Lloyd was seeing zombies that the soldiers weren't, but after once running off out of sight toward Dwynn's house just to have at otherwise unseen zombies there, I started to suspect something. And finally when it seemed every zombie was dead and I was anticipating the whisk into morning victory, Lloyd ran off in yet another direction far afield after the last remaining zombie which had apparently decided to remain at the waterside. Below is a screenshot of Lloyd making his last stand in the distance, discernable through tooltip highlighting... As you can see by the relative sizes of the red and green bars, Lloyd didn't make it...

Kruklya decided not to assist the suddenly brave Lloyd who was discovering that groping zombies was more dangerous than groping barmaids...

I have the exact opposite problem. I want him to live but he always dies.

I'd use Wynne's Spirit Healing, but I tend to exploit the game at Lothering and it causes her to have some really crappy skills.

Additionally, Redcliffe still experiences that damned "endless fight" glitch on the PS3 sometimes.

I get the endless fight glitch on the PC too. I have to run around into all the corners of Redcliffe chasing the zombies out.

I seem to remember reading that there's a reward for keeping him alive, but I think I keep forgetting to collect it. Anyway, keeping him alive... mostly a matter of healing him. (That, and lucking out: Lloyd Jenkins can die during the cooldown. There might be something to that "scripted to die" thing...)

Hilarious.

Thank you. And btw, the specific enchantment means more evidence for Bhryaen's theory. X)
