Maybe it is just me and my Shepard, but I never wanted him to be distracted with some random **** on your team when the galaxy, and mission is at stake.
Is the romance, LIs really that important to you...?

LI and friends, it's good, otherwise, mass effect wouldn't bring much more than a shooter game.

It's a nice bonus, it contributes to make deeper characters and adds more possibilities when developing our character, but it isn't something capital, not at all.

I don't go out of my way, other than to get the paramour acheivement or if I feel it suits a particular Shepard.

No. Sex first, then shoot.
Wait. Uhm....nevermind.

Yes, because honestly, without people I care about, the universe doesn't mean that much.

It's not, infact for my Shepard mission comes first.

Not really I prefer real girls, but that just me. In ME1 the romances was really good implemented, because the writing was really good it felt authentic. In ME2 the romances felt like more or less like fiction but it was still good. Otherwise, romances are nice and gives a good balance to shooter and rpg.

This.
And it's not just the LI's but also the emotioinal bonds that my Shepard and I have formed with certain ( ie I don't like everyone ) squad mates over the course of the series.

Love is the strongest emotion a human can have. When you're out there saving the galaxy, risking your life for everybody, it's great. But when you're in love with someone, it brings this whole thing to another level. And Bioware used this in the most effective way possible. The galaxy is at stake, people are dying everywhere, others dont know when they'll die. So people are more open, more out there. Love would be a perfect way to help out Shepard in ME3.

It leads to character development, so yes. Romances are that important to me.

No. The "romances" are like three conversation trees and a cutscene. IMO, people who over-invest in Mass Effect "romances" would be better off getting, like, Katawa Shoujo or something.

I don't play Bioware games for the romances.. enjoy them more because they're there.

I can live without them. Personally, I've never became THAT emotionally attached to any of my squad members.

Romance isn't important to me in DA2 and DA:O, because I can't romance who I really want to--Bethany or Wynne (it's a video game so shut up haters
).
But in ME I tlike more of the characters--I even want to make a FemShep just to see Garrus' Romance dialogue--I don't think I would've talked to my squad mates, as much as I did, if the romance didn't peek my interest initially.

exactly, it's a nice personal touch but does not make or break the game for me. I think it's more of a bioware legacy thing. I remember trying to romance bastila shan in KotOR lolCrimson_D-bag wrote...

Well it's important to my Shepard's story, so yes.
In more general terms, I wouldn't miss a romance too much as long as there's plenty of in depth interaction with party members. Though trying out a new romance is a great excuse for a new playthrough.
