I demand nudity. This game better deliver it.

Honestly I'm worried they'll make it too easy. Seeing people through walls is not a bonus for me. Splinter Cell Conviction turned out to be all action so I won't buy this on release. Still it's IO so I'll definitely be watching.

They have a setting where the HUD is removed completely. No "instinct" to see through walls, no counter for rounds left in your firearm, no mini-map, no hints, limited inventory space, and more sensitive AI. The game is also running on a new in house engine that looks beautiful.

As for the nudity, Martha Thomason did a shower scene for the game, so we'll see...

Wow I did not see that video before. Really looks great. Hitman, Dishonored and Thief 4 are the big stealth games coming out this year...well not sure about Thief 4 probably not for a long time.

I hope they don't get rid of the sandbox levels. Those were the best thing about the games.

I could get into this type of game. I bought the original off GoG and I'll get to it eventually. One of my dream RPG's is to play an assassin.

And what Marsha Thompson says about video games...BOOOYAH!!!!

Infrared eyes that can look through walls? Fire Trails?!

COVER BASED THIRD PERSON SHOOTER GAMEPLAY?!?

WHAT DID THEY DO TO MY HITMAN?!?

Image IPB

On a positive note, it still seems like they have decent level design, I could see that there were a few ways to go about the levels and the AI/NPCs still look numerous and relatively intelligent. I'm always impressed by that in the Hitman games, captures the "this place feels somewhat and not completely artificial" sentiment quite well. Also, the hardcore/purist mode they were talking about actually sounds good.

So, I'm still hopeful. What I want though is for the classic Hitman massive sprawling levels/sandboxes that consist of several "stages" where a million things could go wrong (or right).

So despite my reservations, given Eidos' history, I can probably presume that it'll be a pretty good game in the context of today's market but probably not something that tops Blood Money, or Silent Assassin. It's been a long time since we've seen a decent stealther on the PC though, so I won't complain.

If Absolution is a decent game, I'll be more than thrilled. Here's hoping.

I will miss the newspaper headlines. I loved those why do they have to remove them?

I love hitman but need to actually play the ones before Blood money seriously. I would just turn on cheats and mess around  I hope it didn't get rid of the sanboxes either. I want to mess around again. Like this

It's been years, but I remember the team saying it wouldn't make sense in Silent Assassin because all of the high prize targets were in hiding so they would have to do them for 3 assassinations which wouldn't be worth the effort.

There's no cheats in this one. You gotta be a  if you plan on living.

Why the hell are they dumping David Bateson after voicing 47 in all four bloody games? And no Jesper Kyd either Image IPB

I have the original hitman on PC. Have not played passed the tutorial though. Think I may now. Or not. Getting an error.

I don't see why everyone freaks out about the trailers showing more action than stealth. Past games did that too IIRC

And it only took them six years! We could have had two new Hitman games out already if it hadn't been for Kane and Lynch.

Well, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little worried they're going to go the Splinter Cell Conviction route and turn it into an action piece and I am disappointed that Bateson, Kyd, and Vivienne McKee (Diana) have all been replaced, but nevertheless I am looking forward to it. They've all been great games so far and I replay them all with varying degrees of frequency, well except Codename 47, but it was buggy.

By the way, is Agent Smith in this game? I haven't heard anything.

I've never been a fan of Hitman and Max Payne, but I might give their new sequels a try.

It's only one mode of the game. The "purist" mode has nothing in terms of assistance of UI of any kind.

I remember at the end of this one trailer or something they took a dig at AC. It said something like "The true assassin returns" or something

Their tagline is, "The Original Assassin." As much as I love Desmond's family, I agree with the sentiment. 47 gives Satan nightmares.

Just bought Hitman 2 and contracts again. Gonna try to get good at them so I can do the purist mode in this one without sucking to bad. I wish there was a mode just without the seeing through walls stuff.

While the new "Instinct" mechanic does seem a bit immersion breaking, I appreciate that at least the AI is a lot more realistic in the way that it behaves. In the previous Hitman games, it was really all a case of memorising the AI's patterns and doing the exact right thing at the exact right time and you could breeze through the scenario in just a few minutes as a Silent Assassin. It didn't really make sense either; it was like 47 had precognitive abilities of what other NPCs were going to do before even starting the mission! :P
