Also I am doubting this will be out before 2013. Hopefully a date at E3

So, I'm still hopeful. What I want though is for the classic Hitman massive sprawling levels/sandboxes that consist of several "stages" where a million things could go wrong (or right).

G2-CROWD TECHNOLOGY is a feature of IO Interactive’s new proprietary engine: Glacier 2. Built from the ground up by the team at IO, Glacier 2 was tailored to meet the demands of the development team and enable them to realize their vision for Hitman: Absolution. A key requirement for this vision is to have very dense crowds which allow players to both interact with and influence the behavior of each individual character.
IO Interactives lead physics programmer Kasper Fauerby will introduce the technology behind this amazing achievement at this years Game Developers Conference in San Francsico. The presentation describes the techniques and optimizations used to achieve the 1200 character crowds present in Hitman: Absolution while still running at 30fps on current-gen consoles. He will provide an overview of the crowd implementation and discuss both the algorithms used as well as how gameplay considerations affected the design decisions.

Yeah I understand, I actually feel the same way. That had more to do with stating my excitement for the next Hitman game. I don't ever want any developer or publisher to rush a product out because more often than not it ends poorly.Farbautisonn wrote...

-No. Its never too long if the game is great. The "too long" bit is undestandable but it drives studios and publishing houses to press for release very much before the product is ready.
The Hitman series is one of a very few select franchises where "The game is ready when its ready". I wish more studios would have this sentiment.

Nice long write up over at PCGamer.
This sounds awesome.
"To counterbalance this, the game is seeded with interactions that let you hide in plain sight. 47 saunters into one of the orphanage’s larger rooms dressed in his new clothes. It’s stuffed with enemies: most are busy with their own concerns, but one’s wandering around. His eyes alight on 47’s hairless head, a spike appearing on the suspicion notifier. In response, 47 ducks his head down, suddenly extraordinarily interested in a leaflet stand. The guard walks past, happy to believe the new guy loves leaflets."
