One of the most fair ones if you ask me. The way I see it, the Hitman series is turning into a new thing, they still need to improve some elements, but from the team that made Kane and Lynch 2, to create this game, they certainly came a long way. And I believe they deserve the chance to prove themselves. I would hate for the series to die now after finally being reborn.

I apologize if I missed a post about this somewhere but I'd like to know more about Contracts mode.

The thing I have always loved in Hitman was messing around, taking my time and seeing how many ways I can find to eliminate the target.

However, it looks like Contracts mode is some online only competetive mode. Can you actually customize your own hits just for yourself, take you sweet time and play around without having to compete with others?

I did try a friend's copy of the game, so I know what to expect outside of Contracts, but of course I couldn't unlock Contracts on my console so...

The only thing I don't like about absolution so far is that we're not able to choose the weapons we want to take in the story mode like it was possible with Blood Money, the other thing is the fact that now rifles are concealable but that seems a bit unrealistic to me. However, so far I've enjoyed the game, done some contracts here and there, haven't found any that are challenging yet.

You can customize your own hits for yourself, you honestly don't have to compete with others.

The customizations in Contracts mode amounts to: Picking a level (Seems like most of the levels from the story), choosing a gun and disguise, choosing up to three targets in the level, and finally what exit to use.

I saw one where you have to kill Lilly with fibre-wire, not be spotted, hide all bodies, kill only the target, and not change the disguise, all in Purist difficulty. Image IPB

So that's why Kane had a cameo in this game, was wondering why.

FYI homie, IO Interactive was always the developer of the Hitman series, this isn't some new thing for the company.

Right. Well as long as I don't HAVE to do any multiplayer challenge I am happy.

I think this game will go on my when-I'm-done-with-my-current-games list..

I wonder if this one has weird Danish messages hidden in it. Probably not, but the first Hitman game did.

Actually, no. Most of the team that made blood money and previous Hitman games left IO Interective some years ago, then the project was handed down to the team responsible for Kane and Lynch. Yes it's still the same company, but the people developing the game are completely different.

I tried that one as well, not exactly sure how you pull that off.

Just got to the little gun contest where you need to get your silverballers back. Failed so many times, until I started using the focused aim by slightly holding down the trigger. I didn't know that could be so helpful.

Right? The only way to get her away from the shooting range is to cause an explosion.

Thanks, I was on the fence about purchasing this one and usually tend to agree with Angry Joe's reviews. What I gather from this review is that it has good voice acting and some interesting features like the contracts mode, but the game has too many cutscenes and QTEs and the levels are much smaller, with less emergent gameplay than the previous games.

Does that sound about right? I think I'll wait until this drops below $10 on Steam. I hate QTEs and I tend to find it annoying when a game has too many cutscenes.

Tbh I think a "Max Payne 3" would fit the "too many cutscenes" category. Hitman: Absolution is nowhere near that annoying. I understand the QTE criticism though. The melee combat is all QTE.

The game doesn't have that many cutscenes TBH, and they are usually short. And about QTE, you barely have to use them if you use stealth, they are only used for frontal attacks.

If you're unarmed, but you can get around it by having an item (not a weapon, one of the things you can throw) equiped, then it's just one button. Bashing someone's face with a brick is surprisingly good fun.

(Edit: Atttacking with an item might kill them though, not sure..)

It is too bad about the QTEs though; if there was a game that didn't deserve them...

I would agree with this, while there're cutscenes they're nowhere near as many as in Max Payne 3 and absolutely not nearly as annoying. The QTE criticism is understandable though
