Awhile back I started a 3rd playthrough in Mass effect2, however I never got around to beating the game. Since Mass Effect3 will be available soon, and file continuation will be a option. I am curious to know If I wll have to beat mass effect 2 all over again to have every one my team alive, and the choices I made in 1& 2 be present in the 3rd.
Please help.

I believe that every playthrough starts a new save file, as long as you completed the game once you should be able to import that one character in to ME3

Each post-Suicide Mission save file that you have can be imported into ME3. As long as you kept post-Suicide Mission save files from your first two playthroughs, you should be able to import them.

As far as I know, only completed playthroughs can be imported (as was the case for ME1 ---> ME2). So if you have an incomplete playthrough, it most likely won't import it (which is what happened with me). Whether your completed playthroughs have everyone alive or some/all dead, it'll definitely be importable.
