We also need to keep in mind that this board is not a good representation of the whole buyer group. On boards like this one, you don't find casual players, only the crazy ones. ;) Example: We all had the game pre-ordered long before the commercials started appearing. Those commercials are for the majority of buyers, not the BSN crowd.

Amen to that. Millions of copies sold worldwide yet a few hundred people online believe they are the vocal majority buzzing in EA's ears, not to mention their exclusive target demographic. I mean, the very notion of perspective seems lost to most of them.

EA looks at statistics, it's quite easy to draw the wrong conclusion when you just look at numbers.

For example I download whatever stuff I want then shut off my connection to EA. To them, this reads as I have stopped playing the game.

This board does not exist in isolation, there is a knock on effect to the wider public. If you look at DA2 it goes something like.

_____________
                         |
                         |

After the release and pre-order numbers it hardly sells because word got out how bad it is. People like to be optimistic especially those who pre-order.

That effect is overstated. If a game is bad and out for some time, people will not buy it, period. To claim that BSN is the major reason DA2 dropped in sales is conceited. It still hit EA's expected quota, BTW.

Never said it was the reason. Only a contributing factor.
