At the 3:00 mark, he states that "[The fans] are worried that we'll take it all away".
I'm kinda speechless.

It seems like he was using it in terms of the universe as a whole.
This just seems so contradictory compared to the endings considering that's exactly what they did.

They did. They took all our choices away. We're limited to "Relays are destroyed", "One race is at least extinct", "Shepard dies" and "The Normandy crash lands alone on a remote planet with no way to leave" no matter what. So much for choice!

Because even with the relays destroyed, its totally impossible for the series to continue. It's not as if its a rich universe where the could focus on particular aspects of the lore. Or even find a way for FTL travel to continue - you never know what lies outside of the Milky Way, after all.
Or you know, make the next games major plot point be the rebuilding of a Mass Relay, to find out that without it's programming it opens up to a new galaxy with a much more threat.
Possibilities are endless.

Can't say a race is fully lost, but it sounds like you're going to lose either Thessia or Palaven. No way around it.Tietj wrote...

There's a set of conditions which have to be met in both ME2 and ME3 to make it possible, but the player can broker peace between the Quarians and the Geth. Tali has to be alive, you have to have pushed the Admiralty Board in the direction of peace at her trial (acquitting her or handing over the evidence makes it easier, exile does not) and you have to have resolved the loyalty conflict between Tali and Legion. I think Legion might also have to be alive, but I don't have confirmation on that point. Oddly enough, it seems blowing up the heretics was the right way to go if you want to move towards the Peace outcome.CheeseEnchilada wrote...

If you don't broker peace between them, you have to pick one side or another. Pick the Geth, and they will destroy the Migrant Fleet. After witnessing the final extinction of her people, Tali commits suicide by jumping off a cliff on Rannoch. Pick the Quarians, and the Geth become your enemies. I'm not sure if they can be "rewritten" by Admiral Xen to join you, only without their free will, or if the Geth will be entirely wiped out.
That's what the ME3 playtester on SomethingAwful said, anyways.

There's also the choice of dooming the Krogan (Turian bomb, sabotage genophage) and having to choose between saving Thessia or Palaven.DeinonSlayer wrote...
