I am planning to travel between South Africa, Australia and UK for several weeks and I have Origin installed in my laptop. I wonder whether ME3 EA Origin version is region locked or not. Can anyone please give me an answer for this?

Thanks but I want to know whether it is region locked or not? Where if I play in one region I can't play in another.

I would have thought the region lock would have more to do with the hardware your computer uses (like with dvds etc). Surely it wouldn't be a problem.

^ Using the Origin for first time. So I am not sure what to expect :) That's why I asked.

It's a really good question actually because Steam has strange region locking issues.
I'm planning on buying the game via amazon to save $20 since the Australian Origin is selling the game for $way too much and it'd be nice if I knew I could play in Australia despite paying in American currency.

Pretty sure it's region locked. Because ME3 DDE costs ~40 USD in India (Rs.1999) and that's super cheap compared to the pricing in most of the countries.

OP not sure about ME3 but i'm in a similar situation as you since i travel a lot with my laptop and Origin installed. I pre-ordered in my native country the games i wanted to play before leaving and so far with other games haven't had any issue. I played the games i bought and even selected the language before the download.

So no....Origin games seems not to be regionally locked, the shop although is but the games you purchased are not....of course i purchase games only in my native country but if you ask about being able to play the game 99% the answer is yes. Origin is better than Steam on this regard.
