Mass Effect MMO

As a fan of the series since the beginning, I think this is an absolutely fantastic idea. Casey mentioned that he would like to be able to just walk around, and I completely agree. I've found myself wondering what was going on outside the boundaries of the game's linear experiences on many occasions (spent hours in Afterlife on Omega just listening to the music and looking around).
It's not that Shepard's story isn't engrossing, but the "world" that's been created is just so rich and interesting. It seems to me that the sky's the limit after ME3, provided we survive the reapers. There's going to be a lot of turmoil and a lot of opportunity for enterprising individuals of every race. This combination is the bread and butter of a good MMO because anyone's individual story is plausible when the chaos and adventure is this widespread. Just my two cents, anyways.
Would anyone else like to see a Mass Effect MMO?
I would, provided it's still a 3rd person shooter. ;p

If anyone listens to the Hotspot podcast, they had Casey Hudson on tonight. They talked about the future of the brand post Shepard and the idea of an MMO was proposed (not revealed, announced, or planned, so don't ask).

I guess i would be ok with a MMO with a real story mode.(and obviously NOT PC only; they can develop it for PC then downgrade graphics for consoles i don't mind.)
But i would rather have KOTOR 3 tbh or a new series.

I will throw in the towel (in regards to my relationship [as a customer] with Bioware) AS SOON AS OFFICIAL NEWS IS RELEASED SAYING A ME MMO IS IN PRODUCTION!

Yeah, I think the difficulty of putting an MMO on consoles would kill the idea. It's unfortunate because I feel like it's a logical expansion of the brand (and it would be amazing).
For the TOR naysayers, I don't think you can really compare the two. TOR is world of warcraft in star wars with voice over. It's a good game that would have been great if the lvl 50 content was engaging. Mass effect is a shooter; it will have an entirely new set of challenges. To be honest, I would be very pleased with a Mass Effect social mmo with combat attached. It seems to me that the purpose is being able to continue to inhabit the universe we've all grown to love, and find new and interesting stories to unfold there.

Well great. Another game I wouldn't be able to play.

This is all hypothetical. To my knowledge, there are no plans at BIoware for a ME MMO at this time.
However, I'd be interested to know how many of the people saying "no" play ME on consoles. I imply no judgement here.

How will you make a MMO storyline to that?? It can't be done!!!

It would be impossible to MAKE an MMO over ME... Whatever and however you played the original mass effect games there are MANY difficult choises each with a consiquence that has changed the universe.

They would have to establish a canon order of events (similar to how they've established a set story for the "action" mode of ME3) or simply not reference events that have widespread consequences, such as the fate of the rachni. I'm not suggesting it wouldn't require difficult decisions be made, but it would be possible.

MMO is the worst genre is gaming.
There is a very large subset of the gaming community that disagrees.

Yeah... And thats what would be wrong in the whole. ME is built up by massive chioces and consiquences. No mater how many choices they give you in SWTOR it does not feel epic at all because they have no impact on your characters story!!!
Thats why ME is so great as it is. What ever you do it will keep following you!! You will have to deal with it sooner or later no matter how you treat people or what your past is.
