I'd love to see it done, personally.

No MMO.

MMORPGs usually destroy the lore of games. See World of Warcraft.

Now that is not true. WoW did not "destroy" lore. The lore evolved or got resolved in some way. I assume you are speaking of Gnome Priests, Tauren Paladins or Night Elf Mages. Just because you disagree with lore changes, does not make it wrong, especially since you do not write it.Blizzard wrote the Warcraft lore, they can do with it whatever they please. They want to say Pandaren exist, Pandaren exist. They want the Night Elves to reconcile with the arcane arts, it will happen. They want to say King Wrynn will sprout wings from his chin and fly to the former second moon of Azeroth, you better watch the skies. The lore is not destroyed, it just evolved in a way you did not like. And people will have to get over it.

I just take a quick look at the people that flood BSN with nonsensical stuff, then think of that times like...I don't know....around ten. That's how I come up with the number of people I would not want to play with or talk to on forums....these forums are bad enough just for a single player game. I would hate to see them if they were MMO forums.

SWTOR is not the revolution announced before the release. Just a common MMO. You'r paying every month for an average single player game *$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$*.

I don't play WoW anymore (and I don't like it anymore) but I must say that, for me, WoW (a 7 year old game)>SWTOR even if I really love SW universe.

If you want to play MMO, just wait GW2, a monthly free game, the first non integral copy/paste of WoW.

So please, don't make a MMO for ME and don't screw up this fantastic universe. Make a competitive multiplayer if you want of whatever but not that...

Is there really any point? It's not what the majority of the fans seem to want, it's going to be a massive time sink and probably make a very poor return (like most MMO's that aren't WoW seem to do) and there are other genres that ME would suit itself much more readily. A sandbox game as somebody up thread suggested? Brilliant! A shooter about a multi-species task force based on the multiplayer with some light RPG elements? I'd go for that too!

I don't mind Bioware expanding the ME universe into other genres, as long as the games are good - And I've never played an MMO based on a game franchise that did anything more than ruin the general atmosphere, game world and story of the original games.

I wouldn't put all your bets on Guild Wars 2. Something about the whole "Buy once, play free forever" thing sits unwell with me. It sounds like a pretty way of saying Free to Play, and we all know Free to Play is never free. There is going to be a cash shop or a marketplace or something that will require us to pay for that game and I guarantee it'll cost you far more in the long run than subbing to Warcraft will.

I'm watching you AreaNet. You're hiding something.....:bandit:

I dont think its possible in near future. Because ToR is 2 months old only.
Releasing a new Sci-fi MMO would be digging their own grave.

Maybe but if you don't want to spend 30 hours a week in a MMO, GW2 can be nice!

What I know about GW2 shop is that they will sell cosmetic items (it worked for GW, there is always players on it!).

If that is true for GW2, then they are banking heavily on the cosmetics to sell well. And if it fails to bring in the money, then the game may end up doing a content shop. Let's not forget we're in a bit of a recession. I'm still keeping a wary eye on GW2. If it turns out to be more of a cash sink then it's worth, I will definitely resub to Warcraft.

And Warcraft has cut the amount of time you need to spend to succeed. So there is that.

But back to the topic at hand.

Do people really want an MMORPG?

Or do they actually want an MORPG?

Who needs an MMO anymore when they could make a game built around the ME3 multiplayer?

I agree with you again. It'd be great to have fun with your friends, going to missions, having dialogue and fighting the enemies. But I don't think it needs static world of MMO's and other "lolololol" players to ruin the mood.

Indeed. What you just described is the "Fantasy" MMO. No I don't mean fantasy like Warcraft, I mean fantasy like that's how you picture what playing an MMO would be like. That's actually the main draw gamers have to the MMO genre. You want to go in, have fun with friends, do stuff together and enjoy yourselves. Of course the reality is far different and less appealing.

Yeah, it'd be brilliant. :)

I'd love a SANDBOX mmo.

But Bioware ever attempting a sandbox style mmo seems unrealistic. Bioware never reallys does anything different.

There is no MMO. OP is just asking if people would like one.

If anyone listens to the Hotspot podcast, they had Casey Hudson on tonight. They talked about the future of the brand post Shepard and the idea of an MMO was proposed (not revealed, announced, or planned, so don't ask).

As a fan of the series since the beginning, I think this is an absolutely fantastic idea. Casey mentioned that he would like to be able to just walk around, and I completely agree. I've found myself wondering what was going on outside the boundaries of the game's linear experiences on many occasions (spent hours in Afterlife on Omega just listening to the music and looking around).

It's not that Shepard's story isn't engrossing, but the "world" that's been created is just so rich and interesting. It seems to me that the sky's the limit after ME3, provided we survive the reapers. There's going to be a lot of turmoil and a lot of opportunity for enterprising individuals of every race. This combination is the bread and butter of a good MMO because anyone's individual story is plausible when the chaos and adventure is this widespread. Just my two cents, anyways.

Would anyone else like to see a Mass Effect MMO?
I would, provided it's still a 3rd person shooter. ;p

I guess i would be ok with a MMO with a real story mode.(and obviously NOT PC only; they can develop it for PC then downgrade graphics for consoles i don't mind.)

But i would rather have KOTOR 3 tbh or a new series.

Console MMO?

WHAT YOU SAY

Another game I'd like to see Bioware take a look at, primarily for world design, is Borderlands. Assuming of course, they intend to expand on co-operative play.

Whilst the Mass Effect 'universe' is the best outside of a film and would love the franchise to continue on I think an MMO would kill it and leave a bad taste. I love Star Wars but I became bored of The Old Republic as it is just another MMO and I could not play a Mass Effect game that doesn't give me direct control over when I shoot like an MMO doesn't.

No honestly I don't want another MMO - Guild Wars 2 to is coming, Still have get back in DC Universe. They can do a lot more with there resources than make another MMO. Especially when the have on that is still getting its feet on the ground. They are talking MMO and has Bioware released any end game content for SWTOR?

Frankly if it plays like Mass Effect and is on all platforms and I can create my own character (including race, faction etc) and has some other RPG elements then it might not be a bad idea.
