"Example: The Werewolf quest for the Elves. I couldn't complete that because I wasn't powerful enough to defeat the revenant."

- Lol the 2 revenants were both optional :D

" I also could not for the life of me figure out how to open the G*d*mn door to the werewolves lair.

"

- ... there was only 1 way to go and the door was not even supposed to be opened.

What crap is this?

First of all, this guy claims to be a long time gamer. These arguments always make me laugh

Yeah, me too.

It's always: I'm a long time gamer, I have broad experience with RPGs, I played Baldurs Gate, I own a PC, Xbox and PS3, blah blah blah.

They are so desperately trying to garner credibility, it's pathetic.

So it would make him more credible if he were to say DA:O was his first game ever?
I don't understand this reasoning, to be honest.

There is no reasoning mate. It's just mindless bashing of someone because he happens to dislike the game. Sad.

Oi, mate. You be a canny lad, aintcha sport?

I was not bashing anyone, least of all because of their opinion. I was merely commenting on the futility of trying to ''sex up'' one's review by mentioning how much of an awesome gamer they supposedly are. You connected it to Dragon Age, not me.

The point was that it doesn't matter how long you've been a gamer if you suck at it. Which, apparently, a vast majority of the "fanboi" slingers tend to be. Much to my amusement since they are far more fanboy to their opinions than I could ever possibly be.

Sad.

FIrst, the point I quoted was referring to credibility, not someone's ability to play a game.

Second, the rest of your post is gibberish, didn't understand a single point you were trying to make.

I'm sorry. Is reading too hard for you? Here, let me try something a little more basic.

Him say "long time gamer".

You say  "him stupid"

I say "You're stupid"

Read the increasingly large number of quotes above this post.

I was replying to a post that was about credibility, and that if someone said "This is my very 1st game", would that make him more credible than someone saying "I am a seasoned gamer"?

Please read before replying, it really helps you make your posts more coherent

Oh, and another thing. Get rid of that God-awful low-res close-up of John Shepard's ugly, cranky mug. It makes me ill. You play this game, I take it, so at least take one minute to make a half-decent avatar, mmmkay?

No, but I don't see why you have to bring up a long, fruitful career in gaming to make your review seem more relevant.

Same reason that someone's experience might get him promoted perhaps?

People play games differently. I can kind of understand why someone would get to a Revenant and then freak out and quit, because some people are so devoted to linear gaming. Once you hit a road block, even if you can walk around it, they literally can't get their head around that roadblock. They must be able to defeat everything along the railroad of the game, or the game is pointless.

I can also understand why someone would have trouble finding their way into the Werewolf Lair, or finding out how to progress in the Deep Roads (leaving out the west side doesn't open up the map to Ortan Thaig, but leaving out the south DOES, which is kind of confusing). My girlfriend spent a good 15 minutes running back and forth through the latter 3 rooms of Warden's Keep before she asked for help finding that doorway down the ramp near the big picture which leaves to the first floor. Not all people have amazing 3D cognitive abilities, remember exactly where the entrance was and realise the map shows you where these entrances and exits are.

Ah, apologies then.

I tend to agree with your point, but in this case the guy was saying the game was too hard for him, so probably felt he had to emphasise the point that he was an experienced gamer and despite having this experience he struggled with the Revenants.

It's not really an attempt to gain credibility I don't think.

Seriously, once it gets past 2 boxes it becomes ridiculous.  Please cut down the quotation boxes before you post.
