Earlier, I would've have said, "Well, I'd step in and give them a what-for and told-you-so". In light of a few developer interviews today, however, I'm willing to reserve my judgements on the endings. Just because they're real hardly means they're definitively the end-all for every file. All we have to go on are a few .bink files, some data-mining from shaky sources, and nothing on the in-game cut-scenes. As for that, only two primary sources. Variables from across all three games may have played into the endings we heard about here. Or he may have only played an ME3 character. It's hearsay that he played through on an ME1/ME2 import. We still don't really know how potent choices are throughout the game, outside the Wrex/Mordin fiasco. They may change things to some extent, for the worse or better.
I'm likely being an optimist, but I'd rather have my reservations than immediately jump on the "lol, dark endings are cool" or "this stuff sucks" bandwagons. Even so, I won't invest too much hope into it. I'd rather temper myself for the worst. That said, I'll see what's going on when the sixth rolls around. If it disappoints, I simply shelf it with the rest of my game-collection.
