My brand new computer is having a difficult time playing the demo. Here are my system's specs:

1. My DxDiag.txt log
http://pastebin.com/V50xpg3P

Here's a quick summary snapshot of my system:
  • Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.110622-1506)
  • Intel® Core™ i3-2100 CPU @ 3.10GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.1GHz
  • 8GB 1666 DDR3
  • DirectX 11 Version: 6.01.7601.17514 32bit Unicode
  • AMD Radeon HD 6850 Series
  • Video Driver Version: 8.17.0010.1114 (English)
  • Video Driver Date/Size: 12/5/2011 19:16:00, 933888 bytes (According to AMD these are the latest)
  • 953.8 GB (1 TB Unformated) Western Digital
2. I'm using Origin Pre-Release Version 8.5.0.4518 - 142449

3. Here's my connection speed
http://www.speedtest.../1805971704.png

4. My ZoneAlarm app is configured to allow the ME3 demo to send and receive through ALL ports.

-----------------------------

Here are the steps I take to create the problem

1. From the system tray I "open" Origin. It is set to run when Windows starts.
2. I right click on the ME3 demo from inside the Origin app and click "Play Now"
3. At the Mass Effect 3 title screen I press spacebar
4. At the screen where ME3 tries to connect to EA Servers the game crashes. :(

-----------------------------

Attempted Solutions

From inside Origin I've tried checking for ME3 updates, repairing the installation. I've even tried to reinstall. Nothing works.

-----------------------------

Conclusion

I'm at a total loss as to what the problem is. Is anyone experiencing similar problems with similar system configurations? The ME3 demo is the only game in my large library of installed games that's griefing me. Comparitively speaking I can play SWTOR at 1920 x 1200 with all settings maxed out and I always get steady framerates of 40 - 60, and 80 - 110 indoors and during dialog scenes. I play for hours with no problems or crashes. My system can totally play ME3 but it keeps crashing when trying to login to EA Servers. Please help!

Did you try setting Origin to offline and then trying the demo?

Try turning off ZoneAlarm and see what happens. A lot of people are experiencing problems with the demo so you are not alone. Also try to right click and hit repair installation on the demo.
