Dextros thing is **** luck, but then my visceral hatred for Tali and Quarians in general makes it tough for me to think about this objectively.  What do I mean by that?  I mean that it's hard not to think about a slow death for Tali without laughing.

Gay crewmembers and procreation just reminds me of the episode in Battlestar Galactica (reimagined) where the fleet was forced to criminalize abortion.  No one could watch that episode and think the show was endorsing a position, only having their characters confront the situation presented to them as best they could.

When I first heard about this plot I was intrigued by the "Land of the Lost" possibilities, at the time I wasn't aware who would be on the ship specifically, but that impression has remained despite being made aware of the possible roster.

Like anything however, I'll have to see how it's presented.

But then... I'm probably never picking the Synthesis ending except to take a peek at it. Furthermore, the status of the relays gives me the impression the next game - should there be one - will take place so far in the future everyone of note will be long, long dead.

They're going to die anyway.  All they're doing is consigning their inbred progeny to a bitter existence on a backwater planet...until disease or the elements destroys them.

Team Dextro becomes food for team - non dextro.

Then a thresher maw eats them all.

Garrus eats Tali, then kills himself out of shame.

The humans, unsure of what life is safe to consume, start with Joker's legs. And then suddenly, broodmothers--broodmothers everywhere and just anyhow.

Before we know it all the people will be worshipping Shepard as some kind of God and then 1000 years later they will forget him.

I love this whole "oh noes, they're going to starve to death!" thing everyone's got going.

The new world is symbolic for a new beginning, a clean slate without the Reapers. It's a big, fat metaphor, and assuming everyone is doomed shows a seriously lack of creativity and/or optimism.

We get that, Cheez. Hell, it's hard not to the way they bludgeon you over the head with it. Discounting the fact that it would be thematically sensible for them to be on Earth, like someone else said, handwavium only goes so far. You can't just throw in symbolism for symbolism's sake. It has to make sense first, and this whole thing is nonsense from end to end.

There are theoretically about a hundred people crewing a large frigate like the SR2, right? I think that's enough genetic variety to avoid interbreeding and establish a colony of humans. That is assuming that the entire crew survives. Tali and Garrus are screwed, unless EDI can use her uber AI brain to make some dextro food-goo-smoothie machine. The colony will come to be dominated by humans and blue folk. Liara should make many, many times with Garrus and Tali for posterity's sake. Bow chicka bow wow

I doubt that are as many as 100, considering:

- Joker hijacked the craft from the bay when escaping from Earth

and

- Fully-staffed SR-2 was fewer than thirty people.

Either way, it assumes that everyone survived the crash. And EDI dies if you pick the "destroy" ending.

I'm sure if it was 'die out or put your penis in a disgusting female', I think the gay crew members would do the latter...

40k is more optimistic than this.

While I know this comment wasn't supposed to be taken literally....

The ending isn't nearly as bleak as the Warhammer 40,000 universe.  Even if the crew dies (although it really isn't a leap for them to be protected by plot magic), life goes on throughtout the Milky Way.  It certianly changes, but it isn't over.

Seems a bit better to me than living in a world where the only thing you can really do is die on your feet or just die.

Please do not remind the homosexuals here that they can't reproduce.

And there's hardly anyone on that planet who'll let them 'adopt'.

Wow... That was quite offensive. You have no idea what you're talking about. Many gay couples use seeds and eggs and hire women to have their child. For lesbians, all they need is a sperm donor. Honestly, get with your times. :?

nah man i had no idea at all

since you're so knowledgeable, demonique, tell me what part of the normandy ship is equipped to handle artificial insemination and/or in vitro fertilization? since it's a medical frigate, and not a small-class warship and all.

Well, at least for Steve's part all he really has to do is hold his nose, close his eyes and think of Taylor Lautner.

Not really. They're not the sole humans left in the galaxy. They have no impetus to reproduce.

The medbay because all you really need for artificial insemination is a cup and a syringe? It doesn't have to be complicated
