Modern POS systems shouldn't let a game be scanned and sold through the registers prior to street date. Here's a Wal-Mart employee who will probably be written up or fired. Unless he just stole it.

Wow , woke up for a cup of water for my dry throat.Having worked for Walmart , this was no accident.Everyday I worked there somebody was always messing with merchandise that should have not been stocked until a later date.

The walmart inventory control system is easy to override/fool/mess up (intentionally or unintentionally). I also know that, sometimes, if an item is stocked to the floor early....you can talk your way into a copy BEFORE they remove the rest of the stock from the floor.
And last, but not least, I've seen CE's NOT have the "do not sell until" dates forgotten both on the packaging and in the system. I don't know why the separate sku get messed up...but it seems to happen.
Disclosure: I'm not a Walmart employee...but I have close contact with a few.

They have . it's just most don't follow the procedures.Especially if the main manager for a section isn't there that day/night or week and you got a younger guy or girl managing.

I know they're not SUPPOSED to.
But it happens. Sometimes unintentionally...sometimes intentionally.
