It's a little dark, and needs some tweaking on the sunlight, but ladies and gentlemen, I present to you an exterior level with no ambient light and working sunlight.

Edit: In game there are some oddities.  Shadows on the character are still strange, and in the level editor I still see the black bands.  In game and the Area editor are fine, but the problem is that the bands appear on my mini-map since it's generated in the level editor.

Still, excellent progress :)

What sunlight values are you using?

Languard, just to be sure: you did patch eclipseray.exe and not just the script, right? The new build shouldn't have any banding. If you are still seeing it, can you please send me the level so I can try it out?

Yep, I grabbed the zip file and unzip the entire contents of it into my toolset path. to be clear on this, I only see the bands in the level editor, not anyplace else. The only problem this is causing is with the minimap. You should have the level already, it was the testlevel.lvl file that I sent in a few days ago. I'm at my parents house for a family Thankgsgiving gathering, so I won't be able to send screen shots or test a new level until Sunday.

I don't see any banding as before the update in the same area I was working.

The most noticing thing is that sunlight is working but it drops very occlusive shadows all around (that could be confused with the banding), for the models, the terrain and the character, and there seems no way to change this shadow opacity.

Made a workaround to show the area with normal shadows: set an Ambient Light with 0.25 - 0.40 color intensity. That made softer shadows, but still the character has strong shadows on his back... and a light for the character still ignores me (1700 seconds to make a light job so no time to try again, hehe)

PS: obviously the log shows now "EclipseRay 1.1"

Languard: the level editor seems to be picking up old files for people that have had the banding problem, which is why the levels look fine on my machine (clean install). The question is where they're coming from. It seems the .erf is fine, because you are seeing the correct results in game. Can you try deleting the contents of My Documents\\\\Bioware\\\\Dragon Age\\\\Toolset\\\\lvlworkspace\\\\ and tell me if that makes the banding go away?
