The Assassins creed trilogy follows Desmond's ancestors. I think they have talked about the series still going past the trilogy, and taking place in more locations like Asia and Egypt though.

I've played AC series loosely and actually enjoy it, though, it is a bit tough to follow.  Can you give us a bit of clarity?  Will the AC III be the third setting?  I recall that ACII was in Renaissance times, I think Italy/France. What was the first setting?

As long as the aliens are not in it. The whole "Those Who Came Before" thing kinda ruined the story fo me in ACII.

I'm fine with it. Its why I call the Assassin's Creed series Sci-Fi. Or at least part Sci-Fi.

AC1- The Holy Land
AC2- Renaissance Italy
ACB- Renaissance Italy(Rome in particular)
ACR- Turkey(Istanbul/Constantinople)

the first setting was the crusades, mainly jerusalem and damascus. the series follows the bloodline of wich desond is a descendant. the descendants of altair (the assasin from the first game) came to itally, where ezio (the assassin from 2, brotherhood and revelations) was born.

How in the Hell can the main character be a native American?

Ezio is a European living in the 16th, so unless he travelled to pre-colonial America and nailed a native American woman then there is no way that Ezio's direct descendant can be a native American.

The only other possible explanation is that this character is not an ancestor of Desmond.

There's your mistake. Desmond is descended from Ezio, Altair, and now this third ancestor. Ezio is not descended from Altair and this guy doesn't have to be descended from Ezio. The entire point behind Desmond's importance is that he's the convergence of a whole bunch of different bloodlines, all with eagle vision. All we need is some method for the Assassins to reach the New World, which honestly isn't all that difficult given all the other aspects of the series and the role the pieces of Eden play.

I prefer 17th-19th century assassin's creed. I'm tired of the middle ages

No he isn't. Ubisoft explained this in an interview a while back. It's a pretty common misconception.

The problem with bringing it to the 19th or 20th century is the temptation to focus too much on the use of firearms. That would ruin the series for me.

It's Bloodline genius. We learn that Ezio had a son that left, and several generations later Ezio's father was born and now we have Ezio. Also, didn't it seem obvious since they all share the same face?

Eh, I wouldn't call that being a smart***. If it makes you feel better, when I first found out that they weren't related, it was in the exact same way. Image IPB

Very dumb move on their part, especially since all three of them have the same face.

To an extent. I just don't see how it adds to the story all that much. Desmond could have remained special just by retaining Eagle Vision, which signified his connection with TWCB. They made it unnecessarily complicated, with the same end result.

I guess the same face kind of makes sense since Altair's line is supposed to be his father's ancestor and Ezio for his mother. It's just a little jarring, since they have the same face and their stories are intertwined you'd assume one is the descendent of the other.

I think the bloodline will matter since the final fight against the Illuminati will deal heavily with the piece of Eden nd so far these are the only three Assassin's to interact with it, with the exception of Al Mualim.

I see what you mean. Originally, I thought the reason why Altair looked just like Desmond wasn't only because they're related but because Ubisoft wanted to emphasize the whole Desmond being in his shoes. Either way, there's nothing in any of the games so far to stop us from thinking that Altair/Ezio are related, from what I can remember.

Sometimes I just ignore, like Lucas and the Han shot first debacle.
