I am not gay, but I'm glad they included this romance.

Some reactions here are rather predictable, but I am glad to see there are plenty of positive posts. Very progressive, by BSN standards.

But seriously, this is a good thing. Mass Effect has always been about playing Your Shepard, so it is logical that this choice be made available (unlike, say, in The Witcher, where you play a pre-established character).

For those complaining that Shepard is suddenly gay, I must say that is a silly argument. He's not suddenly anything. He can be straight, bi, or gay, it's YOUR Shepard, and YOU decide what he is.

My Shepard is straight and strictly romances Liara. Just because I now have the option to romance a guy does not mean my Shepard is suddenly getting homosexual feelings. It's just a new game option I can take advantage of, if I want my Shepard to be bi or gay. Unless I actually take that choice, my Shepard is straight.

Remember: having an option does not mean you character would actually take that option.Just because my Shepard had the option to hit that reporter in ME1 and 2 does not mean he thinks striking unarmed women is acceptable.

Oh, and to respond to a comment about Anders: There was no harassment in DA2. Anders comes on to Hawke once, then unless you flirt with him he simply considers you a friend. There was nothing wrong in including that in game where a female flirting with Hawke is considered acceptable.

Just a few minutes ago, the top liked comment was "****S!!!" in Russian. But of course it's all about writing.

It's been replaced by a nice comment that ends with  "Разве плохо любить человека?"

I think its cool that gay players get this. I think it's even cooler that Bioware is giving a big F U to conservatives and fox "news" Our biggest mistake was not letting the red states go when they wanted to.

Do they mention straight romance? Like do they put a big warning on the box that says "WARNING:STRAIGHT ROMANCE INSIDE!?" because if so i see no need for one that says "WARNING!: GAY SEX INSIDE DO NOT SHOW TO PEOPLE UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE OR IT WILL TURN THEM GAY!!"

Not specifically because straight is the nom. Depending on the content it will go into detail.

The Witcher mentions breasts and full frontal female nudity for instance.

There is a thread about it if you care to search someone posted the exact quotes from the ratings board.

 Honestly, the most concerning factor of this video is that gay Shep dances just as bad as straight Shep. How that horrible bouncing jig can be considered dancing is simply mind boggling.

Homophobia doesn't even mean what people think it means. It means fear of same or man in latin and if you are going to go by the "it's speaking about gays" meaning, it still doesn't make sense. Not many people have fear over gay people. It's just that many people find gay sex disgusting and then you have others who say they are acceptable of homosexuality but these people find gay sex as disgusting as the next guy and why shouldn't they?

If a straight man sees two men kissing, they will find it disgusting.

I don't really give a damn that male gay romances are in Mass Effect 3. I won't see them because I won't be going for them and so long as others don't flirt with men in the game, they won't see them either.

I can argue with that. It's just a matter of personal taste. E.g., you may prefer chubby or skinny girls, European or Asian, etc.
