Well, I went and did it...

You can flame me if you'd like (just do it within the site rules of conduct so ya don't get banned), but I felt this was really the only way for me to effectively express my displeasure about the endings, such as they are. I'm voting with my wallet, as they say. I felt it would be kind of silly to just hang around this board complaining about narrative decisions with which I don't agree, but then still be willing to shell out $80 to EA/Bioware.
I'm sure some of you will point out that "well the endings are just a small part of the game; the rest is going to be amazing". And yeah, that's probably true. For some people, it doesn't matter what the endings are, they'll have a great time playing, regardless. But for me, the endings have the ability to ruin the entire experience.
If it turns out that the leaked info is false/incomplete, then I'll happily shell out the cash for a standard copy of the game, plus the From Ashes DLC. If it turns out that Bioware is listening to the fan complaints, and they release a DLC that modifies things, then I'll shell out the cash for that too. Right now I'm just taking a wait and see approach.

I'm not joking or anything I would cancel too, but I'm too invested now.

Oh I'll probably still be rattling around here, voicing my complaints until the release.

Same here. I'm gonna ride this sinking ship to the bottom. You know, for the lulz.

My Shep always goes down with the Normandy, but they clearly ripped that away.

"I'm purchasing the game with friends (we're each putting in about $10). We're sharing it among ourselves (it's not like any of us are in a rush to play it anymore) and we're not buying any DLC, nor do we intend to purchase any further Bioware products until we've seen a sign of good faith on their part."
Basically, I'm purchasing the game to finalize it for myself. If I play through more than once, I'll simply turn the console off for the final cutscene and try to imagine an ending that isn't 4chan-picture worthy.

Anyways, OP, you sound like one of the more sensible members of the board. (If leaks are false, willing to shell out the $$ for a standard edition plus DLC).

I have to say, I don't have the balls to do that. I absolutely ****ing hate all the bad news about ME3 lately (about the ****ty endings and how our choices don't matter at all) and I would absolutely love to tell BioWare they can stick it, but at the same time I'm still curious how the whole ME3 game plays out. I still want to play it, regardless of how ****ty it supposedly is.

Me neither.
The whole release day DLC,
The 'leaks' and spoilers we've been hearing about,
I would absolutely love to be all righteous and stand up for myself as a customer and all that, but...
I need to play this game, for closure, if nothing else.
Anyways, I know if I do cancel it, I'll just be wondering why the **** I did it in a weeks time.
Respect Marta Rio, hope it turns out to be good and you can join it after release.

It's not all sunshine and rainbows. You think that any war we've ever had ended "happily" lots of people died. Granted this is a video game and on the grand scale of things people that die in war deserve a lot more respect, Bioware stated a long time ago the endings won't be happy.
you people would have still moaned and ****ed if the ending was "Oh yeah, we kicked the reapers ass now we live in peace"

Well, you can always buy a used or discounted version in a month's time, for closure's sake. Or rent/borrow a copy. I'll probably end up doing that myself if nothing changes.
I too understand the addiction of the series; I had been counting down the days until release and pacing nervously about the house in my armor stripe hoody. And I had a really hard time pressing that "cancel" button. (I'll especially regret it if it turns out the leaked endings are just incomplete info/lies/trolling). It does help that the ending leaks have really zapped my desire to play the game, so I'm perfectly fine with waiting while.

The majority of ppl who play mass effect do not come on BSN or know about the ending of ME3. Its just a game ppl. If the endings are what ppl say they are i say GREAT! it puts an end to shep's story.

Actually, I wouldn't have. Not at all. Especially seeing as in the last two games you could just 'walk it off', as it were.
And mostly people are getting angry about the fact that the endings don't actually make much sense.
But this is not the place to be arguing about the endings, there's a thread for that.
It's Marta Rio's decision to cancel his pre-order, and he's decided to do it, for whatever reason. Even if you have a different opinion, you should respect others opinions, too.
Also, pay attention to the new forum rules: "Effective immediately there is a zero tolerance policy on any form of abuse towards staff, moderators or other Community members."
Before you go around calling people pathetic.

That is true, but I honestly don't think I could cancel it, even if I tried <_<
In a way I'm hoping that the game up until the end will be redeeming, so I'll enjoy the game, even if not the endings.
Yes, I know, it sounds like I'm clinging desperately to a last grain of hope, which I am, but I can't help it. My desire to play this game has not been completely depleted, yet.

You are fighting thousands of reapers, you aren't going to walk this one off. You fought one and almost died.
