According to a vid I saw on ign yesterday you get more options in dialogue if you've made an import as opposed to if you're starting out with ME3.

A poor excuse, especially since a new game still has a protagonist who has a history of two games even if the player hasn't played them.

Its not that poor, honestly. Anyone coming into just me3, probally has little intrest in all the background lore and history, because if they did, they might have you know, played one and 2 BEFORE 3. ala, people who want to shoot it up, and maybe play a brancing story will be the ones who dont import, and start out there. so works for them. And us diehards get to carry over and get more choices. Works for us.

Well, it's the last game in the series, Bioware is obliged to make it crap if they want to, you're all going to buy it.

No offense OP, but I don't trust your sources.

Youtube videos everywhere confirm this.

They all have mass dislikes because of this very reason.

Do we have more video other than the demo and the one sex scene?

Yeah thats the question, because all the sex scenes had two options.

Check the Fight For The Love Thread. Spoiler worthy obviously, but a lot of dialogue screens.

Cool, the guy I was talking to could have just been ****ing with me. I'll wait to play the game before I pass judgement.

Sweet less choices! I was thinking there are way too many choices in these games.

I think it was you who said, It was maybe 2 dialouge choices that selected entire conversations. TBH, sounds like action mode maybe to me. I know they said, theres no dialouge choices at all but perhaps they added in the 2 for the times when the story does branch out or go 2 little ways, so they basically get to pick sheps personality without going through every line.

Were there more than two options? If not it's fine since like I said all the romance scenes have had two dialogue options thus far.

Just paragon and renegade for an entire romance arc. Again, if you read the leak it's not that much of a surprise. It's the whole romance arc though, not just the sex scene.

Please explain how it makes sense to you for a company to phone in their biggest product of the year, something that they've been working on for 2 years, and something that is part of a larger product that they've worked on for 5. I would really like to know how this is a viable thought in your mind.

Actually I noticed this a bit in the demo, not just the romance scenes that have appeared. It's very similar to the dialogue in SWTOR (i.e., limited choices). Granted, in the past, the options on the left have always been about investigation, asking more questions, etc., while the right tended towards conversation resolution, so in a sense there always were just two or three "Move the conversation along towards conclusion"-options, but it is more limited. Hopefully -- hopefully -- it's just the demo... and romance scenes... Ah, who am I kidding... I gave up hoping on these things with BW a long time ago. ("It's not ammo, it's a heat sink! It's completely different!")

Personally, I'm expecting those were just the constraints of the demo. If not, I'll be upset on the 6th, but I'll deal with it of course.

I also hope that beginning part has more control for you. That "I'm just a soldier Anderson" line still comes off as awkward in my opinion. "I can't do my job if I'm stuck here" would've been a lot better, or something like it.
Essentially, I'm hoping that a lot of the auto-talking was demo, and you still have significant choices.

It functions as ammo but in the lore it's something different, which is why they would distinguish it. They never hid the fact that ammo and heat sinks did the same thing in gameplay.

Demo was confirmed to be stripped in dialouge choices, in comparision to the full game. Given, they could have been lying. I just doubt it, and fail to see why.

FYI, I was at the Dublin ME3 launch party last night and had a chance to play the game. There were no more dialogue options for the opening sequence than there had been in the demo. I couldn't play long because... well, this is embarrassing... I'm a PC gamer and, having never used an XBox controller or owned a console, I was, frankly, totally useless at playing it. But after I gave up I watched other, competent people playing and I only ever saw two dialogue options in the various other parts of the game they played, which had not been in the demo.

EDIT: That said, none of us had the option to import a save, so maybe that's why there weren't more conversation options...?

I really really really want to finish the game for myself before passing judgment but a lot of what I'm hearing is not the best news ever. God I hope this is wrong.

Well, there you go. You heard it here first.

I gave up trying to figure them out after they thought having 1 cave and 1 house map was a good idea.

Don't feel bad, I tried to play KOTOR recently and couldn't last 5 minutes with my keyboard and mouse.

So that settles the issue on dialogue, yeah?

To be fair, I should probably qualify my statement.  The party was three hours long, but there were a fair few people there and I don't believe any guest had their hands on the game for more than an hour.  ME3 must be huge, and it may be unfair to characterise the whole game on the basis on a short experience of it.

Just to clarify one critical point....

When you say you only ever saw two dialogue options, you're talking about options on the right side of the wheel for "paragon" and "renegade" responses, right?

Still had the options on the left side of the wheel to branch conversations deeper?
