I asked this question a while back and didn't recieve a very favorable answer.
But after talking with some people online, I figured I should ask it again, just to be absolutely sure what they told me was correct or not.
The main reason I rejected Dragon Age is because I disapporove of what I call "AutoFire Combat".
It's the kind of gameplay mechanic where you choose a target, your character continues to swing the sword, shoot the bow or whatever while you select the skills to use on the target.
I prefer to control this activity myself, not have the game automate it for me.
In the aforementioned discussion, I was told that there exists an option for Dragon Age to disable this form of combat so you can have the control you desire.
Can someone confirm if this is indeed the case?

Not that I know of. I'm pretty sure there is always an auto swing, and the only input you have is movement and abilities.

No way in DA:O. DAII has an option to attack yourself though.

Hmm, a difficult decision to make then.
Do I suffer through Auto Combat in the first game knowing I won't have to endure it in DA2 (and possibly DA3) or do I just not start the trilogy at all?
I think I'll defer that decision until after I finish Mass Effect 3!

DA is not a trilogy. Just an FYI.
On topic, the odds of you just letting anyone swing is nill. You're going to be pounding keys, activating abilities, drinking potions, and junk. It's really hardly noticeable.
