The industry still acts like bashful children about sex. It's not surprising that they've chickened out on showing anything but kissing and hugging, especially since FOX News lost their collective **** over alien sideboob in ME1.
American society still acts like bashful children when it comes to sex. This is because we are not disentized to it like violence!
Violence is everywhere, therefore, it's pretty much the norm and it's not just due to the media! They are not the sole scapegoat!
Sex, however ...
Two ways to look at this:
From a biological standpoint: I want a child (unless you decide upon Artificial Insimination) - That is okay! Sure, sex is allowed if you want a child because we know what occurs!
However, sex for pleasure, even though you can still get a child from standpoint one, is frowned upon although the same things are involved here.
Don't get me wrong, I don't like it as its been exploitive manner; however, perhaps we need to be unindated with it to the point of disentization like we have with violence.
I'm 29, and know what sex is and understand it, but putting it out there in front of me, makes me uncomfortable. That's not me criticizing it because it happens. If the scenes are strategic, than I can handle it since I know what's going on.
I believe some don't "understand" what implication is or means, but are quick to use it in a defensive manner. "Are you implying that I'm ... ?" Therefore, they get defensive whether it's implied or spoonfed to them. And quite honestly, I don't get the spoon-feeding either. Most of us are not babies and even they can spoon-feed themselves once they learn the skill.
Sorry for the rant, but yeah. The Pro-Violence, Anti-Sex thing is silly to me, too; however, I understand the reasoning behind it!
