[*]For users who have not already logged into an EA game using this Origin account, the account must be older than 30 days;
What does this mean ?

Do the new rules and regulations mean if I screw up my login again I wont get back on because I haven't got an origin account and don't want one either ?

What's going on ? I must admit I was a bit shocked with all the heavy handed Mass Effect 3 thread locks and deletions regarding Origin and modifications is it just because of that ?

Is there a way to safeguard my password etc as one minute I was a Tsongo and the next thing I know me and my password didn't exist. ?

I *think* that our accounts in these forums got automatically tied to Origin, so we have an Origin account even if we've never installed the program, at least that's what I understood the other day when I was checking something about my password.

Not sure about that bit about 30 days, or what led to all of this. Fanboy fights, I guess.

It means they are using their games as a way to eliminate spammers, if you want to spam the forums you have to buy a copy of their games. New folks registering probably won't be able to post until longer. Spam is a problem which they probably don't want to spend as much effort fighting and this really makes it difficult for the spammers.

Would be okay if we could use our Origin account for our gamespy login, which is actually doable i think ( might make things simpler actually even though atari should pay EA for the trouble and that is not going to happen )

Arkalezth.. Hmm that might explain how come I suddenly didn't exist although I used the same name and password as I do on the vault and that's still going strong. At least it might go to proving I'm not completely mad !

Just have to be careful now not to offend all the lovely kind generous souls that lovingly provide us with such an excellent service and not post any screenshots with scantily clad adventurers in !

painofdungeoneternal.. EA make enough money anyway and they're getting greedy with all this Origin stuff.

Rather have all that money fund new games and not hiring babysitters to fend off spammers from india, china and other countries being paid 15 cents a day to put up links in other peoples forums. Tying it to "real" customers is actually a good idea, and the rest of us are grandfathered in.

The worrry is that we use steam accounts, gamespy logins and other similar means for NWN2 and aren't directly EA customers, but then why should they be focusing on supporting us to the same degree as those who are funding them. ( Hoping actually this franchise can again be under the EA umbrella eventually )

Infamous is more like it.

That said, I did break down and load Origin. Against all reason and better judgement.

Really ? You'll be telling me they're not keen on PC gamers and don't like modding of their games next  Image IPB

As for Origin well shame on you, I don't think I'm going to have that dilemma as by the time I finish my latest module it might not even exist  and I should be able to finish Mass Effect after digging a copy out of a bargain bucket. In actual fact all this restrictive nonsense was a contributing factor to me clicking the toolset back on again.

Then Origin has at least something going for it. I like your work and want you mucking about in the toolset.

Quixal..Thank you and mucking about is exactly what I intend to do. I'm into the third module now of a campaign but I haven't got a clue where it's heading ( apart from destruction of baddies and heroic deeds ) I've kept the main quest open and have only just brought in the second companion ! So I'm in for the long haul but that's what I want, I'm going to let its story grow naturally as I make it and if I have a new idea for quests etc I'll just add them.

Good I'm glad I'm not the only one who has no idea where my story is going until it is finished.

It's better to be clueless it certainly saves on having a mad rush for the end and all it takes is a bit of back tracking on conversations when testing to make sure it all adds up.
