I have kind of what like Snake241079 is saying for me. i have no issues with save corruption until I get to the quest The Last Straw which then anything I do says the save is corrupted.

Ironically, I'm now back on DA2 after Skyrim (so clearly DA2 was the Game of the Year and NOT Skyrim) doing a warrior playthrough so I'm very pleased to see the Sunder fix. I'm in Act 3 and going to be getting to the The Last Straw soon but have not yet played any of the DLC. I will be able to tell really quickly if one has to replay the whole game or just before Mark of the Assassin. I will most definitely post back here and let everyone know the results.

Edit:  I forgot to mention to the guys at Bioware......  Thank you so much!!  I'm glad that you guys are still working on my favorite game because I was starting to wonder if you all just shelved the thing.  No word on any DLC, expansions, or anything was kind of depressing.  LOL

So I played through the rest of Act 3 except The Last Straw and have now played through the two DLCs.  My corrupted save issue is now fixed as I am now able to load saves after begining The Last Straw but as I was playing through the rest of the game the game now comes up with the message "Unable to load area" any time I try to finish the game at the Gallows.  Oh well lol the patch almost worked....

I'm going to be doing another playthrough now anyway so since it's a fresh game I'll write back with the results whenever that is (will take a while lol).

LOL k, so I went to start a new game then I got the "Unable to load area" message!!!

I then assume something else is going on so I rebooted my PS3 and now the area at the Gallows works.  I'm currently going to try to finish the game.  I'll write back on what happens!

EDIT: Alright so now the auto-save right before the Orsino fight gives me the corruption message, the save before that does not.  A restart did nothing to fix this issue (as expected).  Anyway, I will be doing another playthrough but it'll be awhile before the results are in.

I think this patch broke the "supplier" trophy again. Made a separate play through to get the trophy and it won't pop despite the fact i have more than the required amounts. Please fix so I can get my platinum.

One question, did you try going through that part with auto save disabled?

Played new female warrior sword and shield with the latest patch on the PS3 and was disappointed with the changes to romance storylines. Showing interest in Zevran did not result as it did before and the video from the cave played at the end of the fight with the crows at their camp. There was supposed to be an act III make up with Fenris and there wasn't other than Varric mentions to the seeker that Fenris stayed when everyone else left. I had a game freeze at Lowtown battle with mages but I'm used to that. Would like to see ability to have multiple relationships returned to the way it was. I could live with Fenris never getting his act together to have a meaningful relationship. He had been through some very harrowing experiences that would likely hurt anyone's ability to commit or even have relations. I don't remember being able to move items into my junk column before to make the selling process more efficient so thank you for that addition. PS3 does not give us the option not to download updates. If I had this game on MAC or PC I would go backwards to get the relationships back to the way they were. I'm disappointed now. In DA III please keep the banter and the romantic elements as they are what set this game apart from the other games. I keep going back to Dragon Age I and II after playing Skyrim and Amalur to get the character interactions that make me invest emotionally in the DA characters. It will keep me coming back if you continue to develop their stories. There are plenty of other games to satisfy the hard core gamers action requirements. DA is the only venue for those of us who want an emotional connection to the characters we interact with and a story line that makes you speculate what will happen next.

BTW good novels take a couple of years at least to get published so take the time you need to get it right. Skyrim was a long time in the making and is an amazing feat of open world gaming (if they added the character development of DA it would be tough to beat). As anxious as I am to find out where the storyline goes next, I will happily wait for a well developed product just like I wait for a great novel.

Hey, sorry I didn't answer your question right away but the answer is no.  I played with the auto-save on.

I just completed a new playthrough and this time I made sure to turn the auto-save off through BOTH of the DLCs.  The result, unfortunately, is exactly the same.  I still get the "The save file appears to be damaged and cannot be loaded." message after completing The Last Straw.  Sorry developers but the patch did not fix the problem.

So what's it going to be now?  Import the last possible save into DA3?  Unfortunately, I'm guessing that this was the last attempt by Bioware to fix this issue but hopefully one of them will be available to comment on this.  :(

Only thing I can think of that they might do for DA3 is just make it so that either the MotA dlc doesn't have any impact on DA3 or make it so that it has the same impact reguardless as to weither you played it or not. Thus we could finish our save file with MotA not played through. I'm actually thinking that if I ever get time I'm going to just go through The Last Straw from my post Legacy save and then do MotA after that and see if it might make a difference. Doubtful but maybe it'll work somehow, since the patch removed the supposedly suspect save.

Thanks for the reply though.

Ok, I'm also having trouble with the file corruption, I get told that either the file is corrupted or I lack the required dlc (however I actually have everythig installed), however I might add that I never had this problem with patch 1.04.
Next I would like to add that I completed MotA in act 1 but only got the error message when I deal with Orsino, any ideas?
Currently trying to re-install to see if that makes any difference

I see that this patch doesn't fix one of the bugs that I believe a previous patch caused. If you sleep with Isabela but establish it as completely casual and then go on to romance Merrill, you cannot kiss Merrill in the endgame.

IIRC, Merrill is still considered the romance option by Varric's final dialogue, but the inability to kiss Merrill because of having sex with Isabela was pretty annoying.

That's the route I started to take (I've never played MOTA so I don't actually know if I'd even have the save corruption problem), but I got so paranoid that it wouldn't make a difference that I didn't dare to try it out. If you do try that out, could you let me know how it works out for you?

So... I downloaded the patch and started a new save for the hell of it, for companion interaction, and mostly to see if the save corruption issue was indeed fixed with the patch.

I got bored, so I figured "Why not. I may hate it, but it's there anyway."

Did MotA and did Legacy. Guess what?

I still have saves getting corrupted left and right. Not only that, it's now saying I don't have the required DLCs from earlier saves, when I know I do. Plus, those same earlier saves are in Kirkwall proper, so there shouldn't even be a reason for it to say "Well you don't have these DLCs! So neener neener neener!"

Oh and in addition to how my saves are getting corrupted, I'm fairly certain that MotA is also responsible for an infinite loading screen bug. That bug then prompts me to reset my PS3, which then forces me to witness how none of my saves after the DLCs were completed work anymore.

So I think it's best to call DAII -- and more specifically, MotA -- a colossal failure. Because now the game is unplayable, unless I self-impose on myself to never do MotA.

I spent a collective... $90 -- counting the Item Packs and the Main DLCs -- for what is effectively a paperweight now.

If it helps -- and I doubt this can ever be fixed -- I think the issue is that all saves following the Vault in MotA lead to a corruption of the files. So it'd be best to probably remove them all and see what happens.

This won't matter,  Even manual saves corrupt if you have the issue.  Removing all autosaving isn't going to fix that.  I have little faith they will fix it unfortunately.  Won't be buying DA3 now, or ever, unless they manage to fix this or someone with a corrupted postgame save confirms that it still works for importing into DA3.

PS3 it should prompt you when you start the game, as long as you're internet connection is enabled.

Xbox I have no idea since I don't own one.

When you boot up the game and are on PSN it should prompt for it before loading the game.

Are you sure you didn't already download it then?  Go into the game data and in the patches and dlc for Dragon Age II it'll tell you what version it is.
