If you get the Shep lives ending anyone alive at that point who wasn't in your party stays on Earth I believe. Anyone you bring with you gets stranded.

I'll have Vega and the Virmire Survivor then. Good riddance!

From what I understand, and Capeo can correct me if I'm wrong, its anyone you've recruited is stranded. Those characters not recruited are members of your war assets and will participate in the battle around Earth, so are presumably left behind.

So if you want Tali or Garrus to remain, for example, you have to not recruit them. They cannot be squadmates.

It's not really a solution to the ending. More of a headcanon thing.

Crap, I'd love to correct you but you're not wrong.  When I say in your party I mean recruited.  So the folks you don't have to recruit which means Liara, is stuck being stranded.  I believe she's automatically in your party.  I know she has plot armor until the very end.

It's not a bik file so someone would have to take cellphone video of their TV or something.  It can't be data mined.  Only cutscenes where there are no variables (squad, your Shep, etc.) can be data mined.

Likewise, if there's actual hard evidence that's not just random people claiming they've done in less than a week what took Didymos months to do then I want to see it.

Well the game has already been cracked according to some. I would like to see even a camera phone picture.

Huh?  What took months to do?  The bik files are all over youtube.  People on this forum have the game.  Have you not watched all the vids?  Liara's flashback is one of them.

And it's not random people.  Tank over at SA has been giving out info for a long time.  He was a tester for the game.  When all those vids leaked yesterday they contained everything he said they would down to the colors of the endings.  All things that weren't in the script.  Ditto for Xio.  In every ending the Normandy is stranded.  depending on your choices different crew will walk out of it.

Ok great, but tank never said the normandy would be stranded in all endings, neither did the leaked script. This is completely new that Xio has said. No one else has said this. I don't care about all the other stuff, just the normandy and crew being lost forever.

I'm afraid he did actually.  Check out the forum again.  He even posted a chart recently that shows, based on what you choose in the game and your readiness, who walks out of the crashed Normandy in the end (along with a host of other things).

Wait. So based on cutscenes without variables (which could include war assets as well as potential choices made) by some guy that still hasn't posted screens/vids yet you all let yourself down? Come on.

Plus, patch is ready for day one, guess that they added an happy ending :3

Yes, i still have hope. Even when i'll probably stumble in some cheap bittersweet ending, i'll still do the NG+ run till i'll find my goddamn happy ending.

Else, i'll just try to erase all my memories regarding ME3 and get drell-stuck with that wonderful LotSB moment.

He never said that the normandy crashes on a random planet no matter what. Never said that. he jsut says the people walk out of the normandy. And if he suddenly said it now, how on earth would he have found that out?

I cannot find a single video on YouTube of Mass Effect 3 outside of the Prothean voice files datamined from the demo. You said they datamined the information, Didy did a similar thing with ME2 and it took him months to do it, if you can provide links to corroborate the claims that it's "all over YouTube the. I'll drop any suspisvion, but my Google-Fu isn't weak and I can't find a single mention of it.

I've seen the videos, but they don't really prove anything without context. The evidence piles up, but they have had zero proof of the normany being stranded. Not even a picture of a tv. They are able to take a picture of a prothians face, but for soem reason not the only thing everyone cares about.

I've seen them too. I've read about it and asked about it to the guy who's been playing the game for a while now. It is a definitive certainty that it happens in one of the endings. There is no proof whatsoever that all endings will have that same conclusion.

Even if Xoi answered me that he's seen all the videos and there is no different ending, he hasn't played all the possible playthroughs. He's done two of them and reloaded just before the ending to see different endings but those may still be affected by all the decisions made throughout the series.

And there is no real gameplay footage on YouTube. At least as of this morning. Only Bink videos played and captured from the videos folder. Not even captured during a playthrough. Who knows what will we get when we register our copies on day 1 and the extra stuff is then available to download?

Denial? Sure it is. But Denial is only bad when related to a disease or grief. Hope is everlasting. Suffering in antecipation is a waste.

Thought I'd throw out that Tank (from somethingawful) just mentioned that the ending does not imply that the Normandy is stranded. In fact, he said that their reactions are not 'oh s***, we're stranded'. The thread has been looking at what options are available and most seem to think (and Tank, again, optimistically responded to these ideas) that there's reason to believe they'll probably make it off the planet. I'd go check it out if I were you (and the endings are really killing you) - it's definitely hopeful if your Shepard survives.

Now that I think about it, that was one of the many things bugging me about how that scene was described.  You'd think ending up stranded like that would warrant a bit of an "Oh F***" moment, but it was never described as that.  So either it's just absolutely terrible writing (which at this point is far more likely than I want to admit) or maybe that scene isn't as depressing as it seemed.

So, I thought I'd mention something...

FTL and communication have not been eliminated in the destroy ending. Only sentient beings and reaper tech. This has been confirmed (as far as I can tell from his responses) by Tank. Another guy on the thread did the math for interstellar travel:

It takes an FTL drive a day to go 12 lys. So, in order to go 10,000 lys, it would take around 800something days. In order to get from one end of the galaxy to the other, it would take 25 years. From what we can tell of the Normandy, it was just making a jump when it crash landed. It's probably not that far. I'm not sure it's sound to think that several intelligent races who had once engaged in galactic society would just stay on the ground. Plus, given the data we have from the Protheans, who unlocked the secrets of the relays, the races will probably work together to create routes and ways of traveling together. We have to remember that this is the future - the destruction of the relays didn't revert humans back to 2012, it reverted them back to...like, 40 years - tops.

So, if you choose the paragon ending, I don't think you have a lot to grieve. Yes, reaper tech, which made everything super easy, is gone. But, they can still travel and they aren't in the 'dark ages'.

Plus, several races are together on earth at the end. Working together, I'm sure they'll re-establish galactic society at some point in the near future...as opposed to 200k years (if we advanced from wagons to space ships in a little more than a hundred years, I doubt it will take us 200k years to speed up travel between systems).

In the best ending, Liara's going to have unprotected sex with the following people:

Tali, Garrus, Vega, Joker, VS, Engineer Adams, Gabby, Ken, Chakwas, Cortez & Samantha (grudgingly), Allers and every surviving red shirt crewmember. Yes, even the fat ugly ones.

She will give birth every year for the next 300-500 years, and spawn a colony of inbreds. Just picture it in your head. Thats right....

Just like the tag line for a certain movie: THE LUCKY ONES DIE FIRST.

The FTL comm buoys worked through the Mass Effect relays, even if they manage to transmit the signals at 10X speed of light it's still not a viable galactic communications network on the scale it was before. The only "viable" setup would be a massive switchboard of point to point transmitters, which were stated to be independant of the comm buoy network.

The Asari just use new DNA to scramble their existing DNA, the only stigma that lies with Asari/Asari breeding is that it does nothing to make the species stronger which essentially means that inbreeding is such a small part of the consideration since they've essentially extinguished any genetic deformities that would have led to actual problems.
