I have the advantage of having a class for which I can do the work ahead of time and skip on Tuesday. Therefore I will be essentially taking launch day off. Wednesday I have much too much school to even think of playing it however I got Thusday off and only 1 class on fridays so its really I have enough spare time now that I dont need to take time off.

Yup, I scheduled next Tuesday and Wednesday off. I actually came up with a pretty good excuse.

I told my clients(I work as a personal trainer) that I had to take some continuing education courses to get credits to maintain my certifications. Truth be told though I am nowhere near my re-certification deadline for any of my certifications...they didn't know that though, ha!

What is funny is that even before I scheduled my two days off, I have a client who is a big time gamer also inform me that he won't be able to make it on the 6th or the 7th.  He tells me it's for family reasons but I think it's too much of a coincidence.

I took Friday off. I really wish game releases in the U.S. were on Friday, but it was impossible to take the whole week off, and taking Tuesday or Wednesday off would feel like a tease when I had to go back to work for the rest of the week. Better to get 3 straight days of awesome in a row.

I sure did. Two days of paid vacation time I probably wouldn't have used otherwise. I'll be around at midnight if any of you XBox players intend to start with a little multiplayer before hoping into the campaign, feel free to toss me an invite. GT: Teriana

Seeing as I got Amazon release date delivery and I typically don't see UPS until about 4pm I'm working Tuesday and then taking the rest of the week off so basically after work Tuesday I'll be playing ME3 until the following Monday. 5 glorious days devoted solely to gaming. I'll probably play some SSX after I complete my first run through as well as do real people things like go to the bank etc... but ME3 was the reason for this vacation :o

Edit: Removed unwanted SHOUTING.

I will conveniently not show up at my class on thursday. I'm sure they won't suspect a thing, cause I totally have not talked about ME 3 each day.   Same story the week after, except with the Japanese class on wednesday.

Yeah, no doubt I'm not the only one but at work I'm quite the loner with my hobby.  Only game my co-workers like to talk about is your annual Call of Duty Shovelware.
Works for my favor though since I doubt any of them know Mass Effect 3's release date and thus my time off won't look suspect.

Took a week of paid vacation. Told the husband to take care of the cats and feed himself.

YOU take care of the cats and feed yourself.  Let your husband  play Mass Effect 3, whats wrong with you??

(+25 renegade)

The man lets me play in peace.... one of the reasons he is my husband. When he's on vacation, he can play as much as he wants while I do the cat-sitting and cooking. Marrying a gamer was the best decision ever! :D Our kids will be such nerds! It'll be awesome!

No, I didn't. I'm getting my game from online and I'm not certain when it's getting here right now. Not until I get tracking numbers. No point to taking off.

Also, want to save my time off because I'm flying to Seattle for Sakura Con (an anime con) the first weekend of April. I'm a big fan of Kanon Wakeshima. This will be my third time seeing her in the US. First in Baltimore for Otakon, then last year in LA for AM2. I still have more CDs she hasn't signed yet.

I called Gamestop.  I got next day delivery.  The dude said I would get my game on March 6th.

He had better not mess this up for me!

I agree with this. I'm married to a gamer/computer geek/Japanophile like me. He understands when I want to just play video games for hours and hours, and he understands the concept of waiting until I can save before the console gets turned off. (Unlike my parents back in the day... I lost so much progress all the time because they'd turn it off without waiting. :crying: )

The kids thing though isn't happening. I'm too much of a kid to take care of other kids, plus I feel like I "did my time" by essentially being second mom to my 4 younger siblings. I told my husband well before we married that kids weren't happening. He was like "Oh. OK. I don't mind either way." Awesome!

Not sure how any married gamers survive without being married to a fellow gamer! Heh...
