SWTOR had the continuation of Revan's and the Exile's stories with the book and the game.
The game really isn't about Revan or the Exile though. It's about a bigger picture.
And trust me, the conclusion of Revan's and the Exile's stories are much worse than the 'terrible' ending for ME 3. I was a big KotOR fan, and I also like SWTOR, but I would have preferred that Revan's and the Exile's fate was decided by players instead of just becoming characters with a few brief appearances. Heck, why didn't they make Revan & The Exile playable characters? Well, I suppose if they'd have to adhere to LucasArts' canon, it would be a problem...
... but otherwise Revan and the Exile could have totally been a 'Jedi Knight' class plotline or whatever.
I play (well, not lately) SWTOR as well, I've seen the Ops with Revan too.
What annoys me is that, once again there is no definite ending for characters and that might be used for ME MMO, trailers that show perhaps a video of Garrus talking and such and people will go "Oh my! The story continues!", the same way they dangled the Revan carrot here.
ME MMO story: The Illusive Man takes Shepard and places him in stasis for hundreds of years. The relays get reactivated and galactic civilization finally manages to slowly crawl out of its dead state. Piracy and low standards of living abound. Abandoned colonies get rediscovered.
You find Shepard in a water tank with a dozen tubes strapped to his chest, back, and head (yes, he's male, so there). The water levels slowly decrease as a delirious, half-conscious Shepard starts to unstrap his tubes and gasp for air, breaking the glass in the process.
You fight an insane, naked, omni-blade wielding Shepard alongside your trusty allies: Mirandasazz, Sheploowoot, and MCalibrated (from guild < We pop our thermal clips alone > ). Have fun.

Yep, he's gonna be in a hot spot after release. And not Tahiti.

I shouldn't have laughed, since this might exactly happen

An MMO in a Mass Effect world without Mass Effect Relays? Makes sense...

Pretty much my thoughts. The endings are anything but satisfying.
