The girl from EA support said that people in Maine are also having this issue. Weirdness. She said to check with MasterCard and then call back if it has nothing to do with them (which I strongly suspect).

This is part of their troubleshooting process. If they ask you to check your bank or credit card info tell them you have and it's fine. If you don't, you'll be stuck on something that is a non-issue.

Thanks for the update Varkhan. I guess I will have to try again rather than wait for a call from EA. 0_0 Futureshop won't even let you place the order for English version if you're in Quebec, regardless of platform.

You preordered from Origin, formerly the EA store, I would never buy a physical copy from them, digital if you're stuck but when it comes to physical retail copies, go to your local retailer, support your local community and get what you want.

UPDATE: I have an official answer. Apparently is DOES have to do with f*cking law 101. Origin is unable to ship the CE in Québec.

So... anyone knows which retailer we should go to to try to get a copy when the stores open?

Not too sure what you are saying, but I wouldn't be surprised if (assuming I interpreted correctly) the physical preorders cancelled is a ploy to increase digital sales (which they have a higher profit margin on), where those copies go to retailers (possible overorder in that respect). Who knows, but for the OP, getting your money back usually means you are SOL.

TBH, try the BIG chains, gamestop/EB is probably going to be jammed up with midnight launch and preorder bonus people coming in. The big retailers, or possibly Costco (if they will carry the CE) will be your best bet, I got a PS3 there first day of launch back when it came out, 60GB model, it was funny because nobody thought to check it, wasn't even a member, went with my friend who had a membership.

No update on my end... they are aware of the case (and the rep seemed like he was aware of the Quebec issue but couldn't say anything concrete), but only a higher up can get back to me apparently. So frustrating...

As I've said before, in Montreal, GameStop/EB Games have all their copies reserved for other customers, but said they might have extras in the morning on day 1. Future Shop may or may not have them at launch. They aren't even sure if they'll get Collector's Editions.

Midnight launches are illegal in Quebec, so it's going to be at opening for each store. I don't know the opening hours for them.

If the 101 thing is true, well we're all boned.

This has nothing to do with supporting local stores though. We ordered from Origin and had a priority of purchase. Now we're losing that priority so that really sucks...

That is definitely odd.  Something to consider is that Best Buy bought Future Shop back in 2001.  They kept the Future Shop name (in addition to putting BB stores in Canada) because people are used to seeing it. 

I don't know if the fact those two stores are connected has any bearing on this issue.  However, it does seem weird that Future Shop and Best Buy are affected and not EB Games/Gamestop.

I came from Japan.
So why should the 101 law apply to me ?

For everyone in Montreal, you can try this place called Game Zone. It's an awesome place I used to go to and as far as I know they're not too widely known. It's a long shot this close to release but youcan try giving them a call.

I'll check it out tomorrow but if Gamebuzz can't have Collector's Editions because they are a small franchise, I doubt they will carry them.

I love BioWare, and I will ALWAYS love BioWare, but EA... I always feel like they're up to something dirty and underhanded. I wish BioWare didn't get mixed up with them. It's like finding out your straight-A child is hanging out with a bunch of druggies.

You really need to ask that question?
Its a LAW and as such living there you agree to follow all 'Laws of the Land' no matter how moronic they can be.

And anyone that listens and believes one piece of crap that comes from EA CS is sad...ive requested for a order that went 4 weeks non shipped to be cancelled. It was paid for and all, and they sat on my money and they couldnt figure out wtf happend. So i cancelled, 3 days later its at my door and day after that im refunded for cost of item not shipping.
(note seeing the new harsher forum Mods, i'd like to note that that BW CS and Forum mods =/= EA CS reps)

Do you guys think there's any way we can ask for the codes for the CE stuff we're missing out on? I mean, we have proof that we ordered months ago, and the bill 101 stuff is not our friggin' faults, so is there any way we can get compensated?

If at least the PC CE was giving the code separatly I could buy the standard Xbox version and the PC CE.
But I doubt it
