Origin Collector's edition pre-order cancelled, really?!

Alright, still haven't received an email letting me know the issue has been resolved or anything. My online case has been closed, as per the phone CS Rep's indication. Kind of freaking out, but kind of trusting them...

I gave up.
I will go visit a few game shops tomorrow morning hoping that one of them as an extra I can get.
Otherwise I will have to decide what to do.

Sorry to say, but it looks like they just want to ignore this and sweep it under the rug. Relative to the internet, there are too few people from Quebec that pre-ordered CEs on Origin for it to make news. So they cancel our pre-orders without any explanation or warning whatsoever and we are left to our own devices while they scramble to get their act together in the UK. Way to leave a lasting impression on customers in the region where this game was partly developed.

I preordered my XBOX360 CE from origin on June 7, 2011. I live in Florida and mine has not been cancelled yet but I haven't gotten a shipping confirmation e-mail yet either. I sympathize with you all greatly. I will let you know if I find any stores that still have it available. I'm hoping my order doesn't get cancelled.

Me too (in FL, pre-ordered a long time ago for XBOX). Can you keep us updated if you receive a shipping notification? I will as well.

I preordered mine in August and also haven't gotten a shipping confirmation yet.  I did contact EA support yesterday to confirm that everything was alright, and they said that the product would indeed ship as intended and not to worry.

Me too (in FL, pre-ordered a long time ago for XBOX). Can you keep us updated if you receive a shipping notification? I will as well.


I live in Florida as well. An EA customer service rep informed me that it would ship out of Kentucky and that I would most likely get it launch day. I'm hoping I get a shipping confirmation early Monday. Will keep u posted.

I wouldn't trust them. On Friday morning, I used EA support chat and the guy told me it would be fine within a few seconds, but I called a few hours later and had them really look into it and I was finally told thy couldn't ship it to me. I would call them and insist on getting an answer, if I were you.

I called my local EB Games store, and the clerk told me their CE's have all been reserved months ago (of course), but I told her my story and she said I could try talking to the manager on Monday to see if he can put me on a waiting list in case somebody doesn't pick up their copy. In that case I would get it on Wednesday, most likely. I'm crossing my fingers...

It happened to me aswell... Customer support explained to me finally that N7 collector edition is only in english and my province wont allow them to ship something that is only in english and not also in french because of some law in Quebec. Our politicians are absolute idiots but whatever.

I was able to secure myself a copy finally here : http://www.amazon.ca...x_ya_os_product just yesterday amazon sent an email saying there was a copy finally avaible. The seller is from Montreal so there won't be a problem shipping! There is 1 copy left atm.
An other one might come up it's possible it's the third copy i see they are selling. Good luck everyone.

This doesn't make sense. If the language policy is really the reason why **** hit the fan for CE's, how come the seller is from Montreal and managed to get his hands on some copies. Also, why would Gamestop/EB Games say there's no language issue for them, but there is for other stores?

And obviously, customer support at EA is ****ED because none of them know about that issue and weren't able to tell us if that was why our orders had been cancelled...

I know and i'm sorry that's all the information i got. Maybe they can't ship to private consumers but are able to send to stores... I don't know. You should ask EB Games and such they would have a better answer than mine. All i know is that with the link i gave a copy of the Collectors edition was shiped to me the same day i ordered it. For now that's all i care.

My guess is that stores like EB Games are able to get copies here because their main office is outside of Québec. EA ships it to them, and they in turn ship it to their outlets with a bunch of other games and none is the wiser. However, EA can't ship it directly to a Qc address.

I'm glad you found a copy! Anyone else has good news? My husband and I have been scrambling since Friday night, and he finally found a copy at a gaming store today during his lunch break! I'm so relieved. YAY! Posted Image I probably won't be able to play it until Thursday though because my husband called dibs (he did find it...) and I have a 40% final tomorrow night Posted Image. But I don't care! I have my CE! Posted Image I'll go hide under a rock now.

3. I've talked with an old coworker at EA and he is talking with the Origin staff to make certain no one can order a special edition if it cannot be ordered because of law 101... hence it being cancelled afterwards with no explanations or apologies or even compensation.

So... my husband started playing ME3 and the CE has French subtitles. So whoever told EA they couldn't ship it to Québec is full of CR@P.

Thanks for clearing that up. I was lucky enough to go on EB Games' website, 2 days ago, and the Collector's Edition appeared on the website for only a few hours. After I did the purchase it disappeared. So I snagged a copy, got charged 0.00$ on my card and today I received my shipping confirmation and my card got charged for the full amount. I should be receiving it by the end of the week, and if not no big deal.

I'm sorry not everyone had the luck I had, stumbling on the website and finding the CE there.
