For me, shooting is alot easier with the mouse however over the years I've gradually adjusted to the controller. While the accuracy is nowhere near that of a mouse, controller-use can generally react faster than using the keyboard. So, movement is faster on console but accuracy is better on PC. For me, at least.

Consoles have aim assist (Aim bot cheat on PC), less enemies, and they are easier to take out; the AI behaves noticably different. AI is much smarter and agressive on PC....

Just what I noticed when I went over to a friends house and played a bit on his X-box.

Honestly I don't know how you PC players stand it. The controls for PC moving/shooting/equipment just seem like a hassle since I assume your hands are constantly jumping from key to key.

I prefer my controller :3 all buttons are easily hit, I move and look around with two joy sticks, and my fingers are free to hit the buttons/triggers I need.

However things do get difficult if aforementioned controller runs out of batteries in combat. That induces some heavy rage.

PC is better because that is what I play on...

I play all shooting games on PC. I play all driving, flying, sports, and button mashing games on the PS3. Controllers just aren't as good for shooters.

Why all the hate towards one another (consoles, PC). Honestly, they both provide different experiences and is up to the individual to choose what experiences he/she wants. There is really no usch thing as which one is more superior, it all depends on the subject's points of view and his/her preferences. I grew up with playing games on PC and Ps1. I mainly played PC for Real time stretegy games and my Ps1 when I have friends over. I played Age of empire 2 for 8 years because it can always run on any crappy PC that I owned. Then I bought a Ps3 and I am happy with it so far. I will very much like to have a working gaming desktop again so that I can play all the new RTS game that came out and Diablo 3, but even if I spent the money now I won't have enough time to play. If we have 48 hours a day, I will spend 24 hours just for gaming and I will get a 360 too. At the end of the day, it just depends on your own preferences. A PC gamer who can appreciate the flexibility and all the good qualities that PC gaming offer does not make PC gaming more superior than console gaming.

When you grew up playing things with control schemes like this:  www.localditch.com/mechwarrior/mercs/keycard1.jpg

Then saying that the PC controls for ME3 are too spread out sounds insane.

The first time I saw ME3's layout in the demo I was deeply confused as to why there were so few buttons.  Then I learned what the spacebar does. :pinched:

Same reason why they never combined PC and Console gamers on Battlefield 3.

PC would have an unfair advantage. Fights are just so much more deadly.

Like in Space Marine, on one level, there's a square. On console, it's reasonable safe to cross it, but on PC you'll get instagibbed.

It seems every time someone accomplishes something on PC like a solo run, in come Xboxers et al. and say, it's easy, you play on PC. I have no idea since I have never played on the console but I can't imagine it being that much easier. It just sounds like a way of putting people down.

Having played all three versions, the xbox is by far the most lenient in regards to mistakes on gold and lassez-faire aiming in general. Sounds like simple butthurt prejudice to me.

I have played both on console and PC for COD, Dead Space, Battlefield: Bad Company and a litany of other cross-platform games and I can say that without a doubt that after an initial period of frustration, I am more efficient and a better gamer on the PC than I ever was with the console.

I can't imagine speed-headshotting with a console controller.

Some people may do it, but I grew up on a mouse/keyboard. Console controllers came long after I got used to this medium.

That being said, I own the xbox version as well, and it's frustrating adapting to the learning curve on aiming accuracy and movement. I know players can move just as easily, but I never played Halo or any of the gateway microsoft games that encouraged players to learn the new controller.

I just don't see how people can quickly headshot a Phantom, Nemesis or Hunter with an analog stick.

I used a keyboard and a joystick for those games. Games like Mechwarrior, the X-series and XvT/X-wing Alliance series really made use of almost every key and button you could find.
Good times.

It's easier to play and their is a higher skill ceiling on the PC.

The mobs are more intelligent and tougher to compensate a little bit.

It's harder on the console and there is a much much lower skill ceiling because of the handicap of the gamepad. Mobs are less intelligent and a bit easier and there is aim assist to compensate.

It all comes down to the difference in control a mouse and keyboard gives over a gamepad.

Last time i played on a console was Super Mario Bros' back in 1994, scince then i went over to PC's using keyboard and mouse to aim. I've been playing PC shooters/action games scince the age of Doom and later Quake - no way am i ever touching a controller again.

It's all on the left side centered around WASD the movement controls. You just keep your fingers settled on pinky=shift ring finger=a middle=w index=d and thumb=spacebar, and everything is right around them so there's minimal movement required, and then you have your right hand on the mouse, and if you know how to use one properly, like have it's sensitivity set to a comfortable setting for you and have acceleration turned off in your drivers and in windows, after a little while your muscle memory will get used to how far it needs to move to get to where you want it exactly. Acceleration adds too much variance to this and can really mess things up because the pointer will move based on how fast you are moving the mouse, not how far you are moving it. so muscle memory never really kicks in and is inaccurate. and youve got both scope and zoom right at your fingertips on it.

It's incredibly efficient.

Hotkeys alone make it a lot easier to play on PC add in better sensitivity and it's a lot easier to control.

There really is no contest in genres where speed and precision is required, such as FPS/TPS/RTS, or where you need a lot of hotkeys such as many MMOs. KB+M smashes anything else straight out of the park.

For other genres such as platformers and action games like DMC, comes down to preference. I manage just fine on a KB+M, probably because I've been using it for so long, but a controller is more comfortable.

As someone who has played ME3 on both (primarily xbox360) I think if I was used to pc gaming it would be a lot easier. In the small amount of multiplayer I have played I get a ton more head shots on pc but Im not used to the controls at all. I often forget to use powers or have to look at the keyboard to do things that are second nature on the xbox. If I had a mouse with more buttons that would help a lot too but mine is just a standard 3 button mouse.

I play on both and the pc is more accurate when shooting and the mouse makes movement of the character way more fluid. For those that do not like moving a mouse around give a trac ball a try. I have been using a wireless trac ball and keyboard for a couple of years and the trac ball works great.
