Alright, so I loaded up Mass Effect 2 again to finish up some random quests etc. and get back into my canon Shepard's mindset before ME3, and I noticed something.
All of my weapons are now designated with either an "e" or an "f" after their names. For example, X-96f Mattock. M-8f Avenger, M-5e Phalanx, M-98e Widow, you get the picture.
I'm posting this to ask if anyone else has noticed this change and/or if anyone has an explanation for this.
Thanks in advance.

Upgrades. You get every another letter of the alphabet at the end of the weapon name for every level of damage upgrade for this weapon. Additionally, the model designation (like M5, for example) changes to S (S5) for penetration/shield piercing/ammo upgrade and to X (X5) for accuracy/headshot upgrade.
