I really dont care what questions are asked, if a bunch of frivolous questions are asked and BW doesnt address this monstrosity, that is an answer in itself. Its all up to BW to be proactive and let us know what their vision for the company and their franchise is.
This controversy has forced Bioware's hand for me, if there is some strategy of changing the substance of the games behind a veneer of the same IP, it'll be clear then. I'm looking forward to this but also with apprehension- a non answer will confirm all my fears about the game and Bioware's vision.

The smart money has your premise as what happened. Also starting to be discussed here:Fellow fans I believe Mass Effect is the victim of EA Games deadline. Publishers are like a rabid animal when it comes to making deadlines, gotta make the $$ on time for their shareholders. Put simply I dont believe BioWare have had enough time to finish it hence the flaws and horrid ending. HOLD THE LINE!

The game was running long. Accounting put their foot down on budget and days to completion. BioWare was forced to cut things way short. Ending was the victim. It wasn't just a victim because the writing was bad. It was a victim because it had little production budget (see: rehashed cinimatics) and the whole game was cut short instead of a final adventure one would expect on the citadel.
At that point, even the most amazing writing probably couldn't salvage an abrupt ending due to a lack of time and funding.

I just want someone to take responsibility. I've been a leader, and a big part of leadership is taking responsibility for mistakes. I'd like one of the devutantes to explain in detail who exactly is to blame for this fiasco, and why they haven't been fired. This is a blunder that will effectively destroy the franchise, and I'd like to see some heads roll.
This is one of the most ridiculous and immature things I've ever read. You have not been a leader of any renown if the moment something goes wrong in your team, your immediate choice is to fire them rather than work out the issues. You have no right to demand who gets hired and fired in a private company. If you do not like the company's product, you abstain from buying it. You complain about it. You tell your friends you don't like it. You do not however, impose your puerile will on that company. You have no right to do that, regardless how much you believe that because you have purchased their product you somehow 'own' them. Like it or not, ME3 is a commercial and critical success. No one in Bioware will get fired because of that.
My suggestion to anyone going to the panel - quit the childish publicity stunts, turn it into a quality discussion. Bioware will, and have always, been very open to their fans. Make sure it stays that way because we - the consumers - are the only ones who will lose out if that situation changes.

Also, and pardon me for being blunt, who the heck cares? What is important for the fans is that the trilogy gets the ending it deserves, not what happens in the EA/BioWare staff management. This is one of the most ridiculous and immature things I've ever read. As I can't get there from the other end of Europe, I'd also like to voice my wish for mature, civilized discussion. Insults and arguing are embarrassing and unhelpful. Proper communication is the best way to get answers.

Exactly! So why are people making ridiculous statements like the one I was quoting? Sorry for being blunt, but you do realise I was replying to someone, right?

The DA team and ME team are completely different. There's an hour long DA panel just before the ME panel, which will be an hour and a half.

I think I read somewhere, that there'll be something like an hour panel for ME, and an hour panel for DA. I just hope that instead of screaming about the ending for an hour, somebody will actualy remember to ask what is the franchise (and getting a better answer than: "we're gonna sell a ton of DLC and than we're going to disneyland". I'm not against DLC, and I'll probably buy most of it, but I want to know more on where they plan to take the MEverse from here....)K.garc17 wrote...

Am I the only one who mallways thought of the ME team as the A-team in bioware? maybe it's time for the DA guys to take the lead, maybe take the company back to its BG&NWN roots?Blackmind1 wrote...

And he was sort of thanking you. So lets shake hands and be BFF's. I also agree that demanding someone to be fired everytime something doesn't go exactly the way you wanted it to is very imature. Don't they understand what a big deal is firing someone? A project I was working on just ended. I was lucky to be promoted to another job, but more than half of the people from that project are going to be let go because the company just doen't have any open positions for that many people. In the unforgiving job market of today, people should be more sensitive before demanding to cut someones livelihood! perhapsyou'd like it if EA would just give the ME&DA franchises to one of their crap factory subdivisions? How would you like it if ME4 would be made by those necrophilic bastards that did the new "syndicate"? huh? (srsly? your partner file says he's a sychopath, and it implies that you're also a sychopath? great immersion. I especialy liked the part where you get power ups by bashing the skulls of unarmed civilians with your boots4nk4r1 wrote...

well, ME 3 was delayed. Put back till March 2012.
They were working on the ending up to the last minute and Martin Sheen had to be brought back late on to finish.
Javiks story WAS in the game but taken out due to time constraints. Now given as a poorly fleshed out, short DLC.
Game has lots of little glitches from frame rate issues, lip synching to the untidy endless list of completed missions in your codec.
The ending is riddled with plot holes and makes no sense.
Fellow fans I believe Mass Effect is the victim of EA Games deadline. Publishers are like a rabid animal when it comes to making deadlines, gotta make the $$ on time for their shareholders. Put simply I dont believe BioWare have had enough time to finish it hence the flaws and horrid ending. They just polished up what they had with no other option and got it out the door, after all EA is their owner/boss now. I fully believe this to be the case and there is a s**t storm behind the scenes due to the fan backlash. They will have DLC that simply wont sell unless its an ending DLC, so something gotta give!
All the pre launch promises and hype are NOT present in the game.
We DO have a case!
PAX should put this to bed one way or another
HOLD THE LINE!
Hmmm, yeah. I suspect this is the case, too.
In fact, I'm thinking this is an issue not just between EA and BW, but pretty much Publishers and Game Developers.
Maybe this is for the good because right now publishers are pushing out titles before they're really ready. And game devs. need to give realistic eta's for their product. Then be firm about it. They know better than the publishers how long it'll take. However, maybe some polishing up on the time management skills wouldn't hurt?
Whatever the problem is, I don't really care. I just care that they work it out so that when they release their titles into society, it's up to snuff. Too many games coming out are glitchy and incomplete feeling. I'm getting about tired of this.
So maybe this is good. Maybe other publishers and devs will look at this and finally realize that they need to come correct, or don't come at all. They need to work out the dynamics of their partnerships, and what role each party plays within it. Then stick to it.
Publishers, you bought an IP because you thought they did great work. So, back off and let them do what you hired them to do. Game devs--tighten it up. I'm not certain, but I think 2 years for a game that's 25-30 hours Should have been enough?
Whatever it is-handle it. Both of you.
As far as PAX, I just hope the ME fans that show up are intelligent, articulate and serious. Our good names as gamers have already been dragged through the mud. Gamers are not low class; knuckledragging; basement dwelling; hate mongering idiots. They're among us, but we come from All walks of life. We're grown people w/ families and careers; professionals; military; university students and teenagers that really do have good heads on their shoulders. And lives!
What was that guys name with the vid? "Colon"? "Colin"? What? Well, whatever, but that mocking shot of a so called gamer--the big guy w/ the button up shirt crying like a baby?--that ticked me off. Apparently, even the gamer industry doesn't have a good handle on what "Gamers" are these days.
that is all.
