We must make certain that the end is explained, rest assured if they are effectively asked they will answer, they already don't seem to have a choice in the matter. The only remaining question is just to what quality they will answer. Will they reassure us with talk of a good ending, say that what we have is what we get, or just express how much they wish they could tell.
It will only get worse for them as more people finish the game and as it's makers i am sure they will see.B)

I have the sickening feeling that they'll respond with mockery along the lines of "oh well you can't please everyone" and then "buy our new awesome DLC and James Vega anime!"

Wouldn't be to sure.  I think Bioware is smart enough to realise that if they don't handle this right, they are going to loose a lot more fans than they allready have.

I expect a last minute cancellation. Probably due to travel issues.

Interesting to see what the fans will bring to the table. The ending drama may be all anyone talks about....

This debacle is going to hurt their business. Many markets have already lowered the price of the game after only 6 days.

Cool, we'll respond with "oh, we won't buy your games then."

I think they know that and it won't happen.

It would almost be a smart idea for them to address the ending before this panel.

Am I alone in seeing the comedy of, "Hey guys! We're gonna be at PAX!" responded to generally with "ME3 endings sucked!"? LOL

Anybody who won't be able to attend and needs something asked, list them here. I will do my best to get everything answered.

I plan on asking about the ending, clearly. And a few other things.

Thanks for the offer, here are some things I'd like to know :)

Why is the catalyst looking like the child we couldn't save on earth, is there any deeper sense behind it?
Why is this kid talking about "synthetics will rebell against their creators, when the story itselt (geth/quarian story, realationship between EDI and Joker) has proven that this isn't true?
Why are mates who've fought with me on earth onboard the Normandy, which should be fighting against the reapers?
Why is Anderson the first who arrived on the citadel when he himself told me, that he followed me?
Why are all our choices meaningless in the end?
Where is the sense in telling a customer "It doesn't matter how much effort you're putting into something, universe already decided that you'll fail, because universe doesn't care about you or anyone else?
(at least it feels like you are failing to me)

I could continue like this forever, but those are the most important questions for me :)

Thanks again, would be nice to hear the answers

I know you are going to ask about the ending and so is virtually everybody there, but pls ask them what the hell were they thinking making that kind of crap be the ending for ME3. I have never seen such a horrendously crappy ending and i have played some really lousy games in my time. I am still in disbelief from that ending, never thought that an ending could be so bad that it affected my entire play experience. Normally a poorly written ending just makes me go meh that was pretty crap but if i relatively enjoyed the game i would still give it a chance. but really wtf were they thinking during the development process regarding the ending? Basically the reaper's intention was as giant super intelligent synthetic beings they want to wipe out organics to save them from eventually building giant super intelligent synethic beings that would destroy them?

With the controversy over the glitches and bugs in ME3, multiplayer and disliked endings and the novel debacle, it is more likely the questions will be vetted and pre-selected and be limited to the sort of thing you find in the interviews and guide books about character design etc.

I have nothing to ask (because all my questions will be dismissed with: 'well see' --Bioware snark... typical--

But thanks for the offer :D

Howdy Boston fans (and those who are willing to travel to Beantown).

I'm pleased to announce that Mass Effect will be a part of the Penny Arcade PAX East event in Boston Mass from April 6 through April 8! I can't reveal our full plans for PAX East yet, but I can now confirm that we will be having a Mass Effect panel in the Manticore theater on Friday April 6 from 4:30 till 5:30.  Immediately before the Mass Effect panel is a Dragon Age panel in the same theater from 3:00 till 4:00. Think about watching both!

As we hinted in the official PAX East program schedule, we will be giving special recognition to fans who come out to the panel dressed as their favorite Mass Effect characters.

We'll be revealing more details on what BioWare will be doing at PAX, who will be on the Mass Effect panel and more as we get closer to PAX East. Keep checking back to this thread for updates.

We hope to see you in Boston! :)

ill come dressed as one of the many dissapointed gamers out there

Penny-Arcade defends the endings:

http://www.penny-arc...the-series-mass

The picture is clear:
EA: Tell nice things or you're left out in the cold.
PA: .. . ok ...

.. but ..

The perfect storm of protests disagrees with the opinions of the article. So either, the journalists are so completely detached from the gaming community that they basically are a club for their own admiration, or they don't dare to say what they really think. Of course, they could be honest with their opinions as well, but when so many people dislike the endings is another proof that they are not in tune with what gamers really expect.

I do support artistic freedom.. to an extent.. but this atrocity for an ending was neither rewarding or respectful of the players choices. And they managed to destroy the re-playability for the *entire* series. That is no small feat.

.. and ..

Every single forum (I visited) where comments need not be approved by BioWare EA, are flooded with the same thing: 'we hate the ending'. The only supporters seems to be the journalists, and the odd gamer. That tells you a thing or two about corporate power.

I am increasingly disgusted by the whole situation.

Why did you ruin Mass Effect 3, just before the end. Literally minutes away you just threw in the towel and said. "We need an ending people won't forget, how about some random choices and some bright colours? What a great idea! 150 hours on your character to enjoy an ending of no relevance to the 149 hours 55 minutes played! GENIUS." Shepard deserves better than that, we all do.
