'Fireside' chats will be back. The ability to talk to, or hug and kiss, your companions at anytime will back in DA3
Morrigan will be in DA3 (degree unknown)
class-specific events (mage, rogue or warrior story-lines) will also be present. More choice-driven stories overall.

So?
BioWare has shown they arent above retconning the Hell out of their own game, and just because they're is a possibility of leaving her in the dust doesnt mean her character isnt important.
And come on, how many people are going to do that in their playthroughs for anything other than seeing what happens?

Here's what Chris wrote on Twitter:
"Just Showed first 20 minutes of Dawn of the Seeker DA anime film. I'm not an anime fan, but this was pretty good".
If someone finds this material, it would be very grateful for giving the link.
I'll gladly translate it into Polish.
Here is a summary of the SXSW event, which also showed this video:

Yes, you can have her leave your party, but she always comes back to propose the Dark Ritual. So right there, your Warden knows that Morrigan knows some ritual that could preserve the soul of an Old God. That seems like it could be a Big Deal.
Even then if your Warden shanks Morrigan in Witch Hunt (which Laidlaw has said doesn't kill her), even if you're the Orlesian, that Warden has knowledge and first hand interaction with Morrigan that no one else presumably does. Then you have how Morrigan tells the Orlesian that with whatever big "change" is coming to the world, that the Wardens, all of them, need to be on guard and be ready. And then you have the mysterious book Morrigan leaves behind.
Thats not even going into Morrigan's personal connection to the Warden, Orlesian or Hero of Ferelden and the potential Old God Baby, normal baby or the ramifications of having attempted to kill her. Personally, I'd think a reunion with Morrigan would be far more interesting to play out if my scumbag Orlesian Warden had to face her again after he though he killed her. Oops. Or my Warden that fathered an Old God Baby with her and went into Eluvian Land, I want to see whats going on there, not simply be told second hand.
It comes down to showing and not telling, especially when it comes to big choices and their subsequent consequences.

As for me, I rarely if ever had her in the party (though my Warden boy liked conversing with her and considered her a friend). Dark ritual was performed, but not with my Warden. So she really has no connection to my Warden's life. (I also never played Witch Hunt nor do I have a desire to do so.)
Now, give me a Zevran DLC and I'd be on it like a bee on honey, but my favorite characters always get left out in the cold =\\ (e.g. Fenris)

I wish you and folks that love Morrigan and the OGB plotline received a DA:O expansion that dealt with this in some capacity in its plotline (sideplot or interwoven into the larger plot happening), so that folks could have that interaction between their Warden and Morrigan and the various ways one can be connected to that plot.
For myself? I love Morrigan as she is, but I detest the OGB plotline. I really dislike that it is being built up as this Big Deal in the DA 'verse that will happen regardless of whether you participate in it or not, had Morrigan around or not, or even stabbed Morrigan or not. I don't think any (romance) companion or their relating plotline should play that much of an integral role, unless all companions of that ilk are given such importance. It comes across as favoriting certain characters and certain relationships far above and beyond others. And that is unsatisfying and frustrating to me. Poor Zevran has no comparable importance (thus far) in plot as King Alistair, OGB Morrigan, or Right Hand of the Divine Leli.
And having these plots come back to influence other titles, where we likely won't be playing as the PC that has the most ties to the plots/characters, just seems even more distancing and not as fulfilling, imo.
*shrugs* It's going to be what it is going to be. I'll just have to reserve judgement until I see the actual product.

Ugh. Why can't they just let us change the companion's dang armor?! I don't know why they think it's soooo important for characters to have an "iconic look." Why, just so a couple geeks can dress up during events like this!? What if we don't LIKE the iconic look? I was SO INCREDIBLY HAPPY I could get Morrigan out of her floozy costume and into something more .... decent. In DA2, I initially hated Fenris' outfit; after the fifth playthrough, I still hated it, but by that time, I hated EVERYONE'S outfit because I was so sick of them and couldn't help wondering what this or that would look like on Aveline or Isabela or whomever.
All I can say is, thank god for modding!
I think they're going to let us change the armors, it'll just still be in the style of the character.
Say 2 of Morrigan's outfits could be her purple robes and the chasind robes.
Or 2 of Alistairs outfits could be the kings armor and the grey warden armor
You'd be able to change they're armor it just wouldn't be out of character for them, like say seeing Morrigan in grey warden armor and Alistair in the witch robes.
Or at least that's what I think they meant.
Apart from just companion armor I really lked the new armor idea of choosing armor in different peices, sort of reminded me of the WoW armor style. I hope that's something like what they're referring to for the player

Ohh I'm wondering if maybe it was from the cancelled expansion or something? At any rate I'm just happy we'll be seeing more places. Thankyou for posting the pic!

"And you had this thing: a suit of armor, a chest piece, and it had stats and stuff."Laidlaw showed that armor set applied to the Warden, then to the Seeker, in concept art form. The armor looked slightly different on each, with "thematic" aesthetic differences applied so "they don't lose their identity in the process." Laidlaw then showed a slew of concept art, with various armor pieces from helmets to shoulder guards to bracers, then full sets, each applied to the two different classes. He also teased the possibility that players might be able to fully customize armor pieces, applying color and types of material (cloth, leather, mail) to armor sets.
This sounds promising actually. The companions can be customized akin to Origins but each armor will look unique on them. So if you had a Templar in your party and gave him plate armor, I'd imagine it'll have the Templar logo and colors on it along with other differences.
It could be something like that. Or it might be more like: You've got a dragon bone chest piece. You put it on sten and it looks like a dark set of full plate. Then you put it on Isabela and suddenly it's a dark metal bikini top and a chain miniskirt.

It seems more likely to me that their iconic outfit will simply vary in appearance depending on the "weight class" of the armor they're equipped with. So they would have light, medium, and heavy iconic outfits. I doubt the heavy one would be a chainmail bikini.

Er... in an unmodded game, you can't do either of these. You can't permanently dismiss her in DA:O until just before the end of the game, and you most certainly do NOT kill her in Witchhunt. You can just Stab her, but then she successfully runs right through the mirror.

All I can say is that since playing ME3, hearing about the conclusion of DA2, and hearing some of the rumors regarding DA3, I am terrified of what DA3 might become. Combining MP in a SP game doesn't work. If MP becomes integral to completing a SP game in DA3, I just don't think i can do it.
After starting my 2nd playthrough of ME3, I stopped after finishing the Rannoch missions because i realized that in order to get the best ending possible, I would have to indulge in MP again.
I'm not putting down MP games. I play WOW. (yes, I really do) There is a place for MP games and SP games, but i don't feel like combining them is a good thing.
I am really quite depressed regarding the state of Bioware games right now. I wish there was some kind of positive news about DA3 coming out. Instead, all I hear is the wind howling in an empty void.
I feel the same way, only after my mass effect 3 playthrough, I have not been able to even try to do a second nor do I think I will be able to in the future.
I keep thinking about Dragon age. I really really REALLY loved the first 2, yes I also loved dragon age 2, sure parts I didnt like, but I loved it and have many playthroughs with both games.
After Mass effect 3, I am scared how Dragon age 3 will turn out. I am scared that the game will turn out to be .. anything like what happen to Mass effect 3, that I wont be able to look at it again or even the first 2.
A lot have written, that informations is needed about the game, but the thing is, a lot was said and promissed about Mass effect, like all the different endings and how all you had done in the other games would matter, and it was just empty words.
How do we know, that even if we get informations about Dragon age 3, and it seems really good, that it will deliver any of it ?
It seems that all they spended time on here, was to talk about how armor sets should work and something about "You can pick your Wardens voice".
I am really worried if Bioware will try to change Dragon age and how it works into something like Mass effect, and I dont just mean the ending. The whole sp/mp worries me and the feel of the game. I have been a huge fan of Bioware since the early Baldurs gate days, now I am terrified about the future of a much loved game world.
