Er... in an unmodded game, you can't do either of these. You can't permanently dismiss her in DA:O until just before the end of the game, and you most certainly do NOT kill her in Witchhunt. You can just Stab her, but then she successfully runs right through the mirror.
Er...YES, you can. You can tell Morrigan you want her to leave, and she will. She'll come back, but yes, you certainly can make her leave at any point in the game, and you can do so without modding it. She doesn't exactly run through the mirror, either. It's left plenty ambiguous, so no, it's not a given that she dies, but she actually FALLS through the mirror, what with being a stabbing victim and all.

Yeah... she comes back. Which means she's not gone. By contrast, tell Sten to leave, or Lelianna, or Zevran, or Shale. if you do, they disappear from DA:O. Period. They don't, for example, come back to your bedroom and offer you some massive, main-plot dependent, dialogue before the finale.Silfren wrote...

Semantics, is it? She goes through the mirror and doesn't die. Which means you don't kill her. And she doesn't fall either. She doesn't even Bleed.doesn't exactly run through the mirror, either. There's nothing ambiguous about this.

So the whole point of Dragon Age's PAX panel was just to give us a bunch of hypotheticals and maybes to the future of dragon age? I mean I wouldn't be so bummed about it if they hadn't dropped the 'no more dlc' ball on us.
Oh come on though, you had to be thinking there'd be no new DLC. Mark of the Assassin was a long while ago.

Now you're playing word games. You asserted that Morrigan cannot leave the party, and this is factually wrong. She can be told to leave, and she does leave. That she comes back later is a separate issue.
For a person to come back, they HAVE to be gone. So no, you're still incorrect. Why you're arguing such a ridiculously stupid point is mind-boggling. You said she can't leave the party, and that statement is incorrect. She can be made to leave, period.

I said that the question of whether she dies or not is left ambiguous. And it is. She falls through that mirror, rather than runs through it, is what I was addressing, and no, that isn't semantics. She doesn't run through it, she falls through it, having been stabbed. I was just challenging your claim that she runs, because that she doesn't is explicitly clear even from your youtube. Perhaps it could be argued that she doesn't exactly fall, but it looks like falling to me. I'm nitpicking here at this point, however, because it annoys me when people make factually inaccurate statements, and even more so when the "evidence" they provide is decidedly NOT ambiguous at all.
I agree that she doesn't die. I don't know why people assert that making the choice to kill her absolutely means that she does die, because that scene is left extremely ambiguous, far more so than the scenes of killing Leliana or any other companion, and it strikes me as obvious that the ambiguity is deliberate on Bioware's part. She falls through the mirror before her death has any chance of being verified, and this being Morrigan, of course she would be focused on survival, so it stands to reason that so long as she has life within her to do so, she will fight to preserve her life. Of course she would act to save her own life once she is safely out of the Warden's reach.
That she isn't depicted as bleeding hardly stands as evidence, by the way. Plenty of slain characters do not show evidence of bleeding, even when they are declared dead by the WoG. Never minding that unless I'm completely mistaken, the visual of blood graphics can be turned on or off by the player.

Ever have those moments where you misread one little word and it changes the meaning of the entire post you're quoting, making you look like a fool?
That was me in this post, having seen 'hadn't' as 'had'.

I actually liked Morrigan as a freind, she was rly fun and sarcastic,i didn't make her leave, and i did not except the blood ritual,i just think she is not so important as everybody is saying, she's a cool companion, she may come back as a cameo, nothing big.Ghidorah14 wrote...

So?
BioWare has shown they arent above retconning the Hell out of their own game, and just because they're is a possibility of leaving her in the dust doesnt mean her character isnt important.
And come on, how many people are going to do that in their playthroughs for anything other than seeing what happens?

It's not. Even aside from the very CLEAR ingame cutscene...where she doesn't die, we've also got developer confirmation, dating all the way back to last year, that she's still alive, as well as Flemeth confirming in DA2 that she's still alive and still plotting.Silfren wrote...

Which from a chronological standpoint happens prior to Witch Hunt's events and the Warden's choice to try to kill her -- to which he/she fails to succeed in such an endeavour.
Witch Hunt happens 2.5 years after the Blight. Flemeth's return happens about.... 1.5 years after the Blight I think.
I know it happens (almost) immediately after Awakening's events certainly

Blight: 9:30 Dragon
Witch Hunt: 9:32 (or 9:32.5) Dragon
Hawke fled Lothering during the blight in 9:30, the very latest she runs into Flemith is 9:31. Awakening begins 6 months after DA:O. So I believe Witch Hunt is 6 months after Awakening.
There is no perfect timeline, but from what I gather...
Also, I think Morrigan will be of great importance. We just met her sister in The Silent Grove.

This timeline should somewhat show what happens when, though it's not very accurate. Hope it helps.

1) They understood fans were upset and addressed the situation in their presentation (ME made jokes)
2) They apologized (ME did not)
3) They answered the fans questions directly (ME did not)
4) They conveyed the idea that fans were upset and are working to FIX the problems (Not expand upon them)

And bring back Sirgun!
I hope they are keeping the same idea's of what happened in DA:o effected DA2 and it'll go on into DA3, I want the dwarf kingdom to rebuild and be powerful and see if my grey warden sleeping with the hooker in ozammar has made a mighty warrior child D:, But still I wanna try and go out with Sirgun
But I hope they keep the glass half full and keep pouring into it so it over fills ( Like Gw2 have) and makes DA3 more epic than most people are claiming, but only time will tell.

Thank you so much for this
I couldn't watch any of the YT videos; the fans were just too silly and fangirly. Was giving me a headache
(Facepalm on self) At first the browser didn't recognize the smilie-animations, so I kept thinking 'Why do you call me Smilie? is it sarcastic?'
Anyway, you are both welcome, I am glad it helped, and I found it to be a tad more specific, though it's still very early on; I am a sucker for new DA info (guilty!)
