im not bothered about the warden hes finished ... mostly i preferred hawke im one of the few who did but hes finished for now too so a new character should be good and then they can bring them all back in the final game to fight the worst evil or something like that
but they didnt actually finish hawke they were making a dlc to add closure to hawkes journey but stopped Image IPB that pissed me off Image IPBImage IPBImage IPBImage IPBImage IPB

I hope they spend more then two years but EA wont let that happen. But what I hoping for is a DA2 UE with the xpack in it plus the dlc they made but didnt made the cut. Give me more DA plz

EA allowed Bioware to spend 5+ years on "the old republic" and payed 200 millions for it. i think bioware has alot more freedom than some people here realize, but i guess its easy to blame EA for everything.

The year is 2012, twenty four years after the release of Wasteland, a major (maybe the biggest) RPG developer company promises us freedom to change companions' armor, no reuse of levels, decisions that matter. Thank you guys, you are being so innovative.

Well played good sir. Well played.

As for what was said, well, they said a bunch of stuff prior to DA2. So I understand they want to wait until they can show stuff in detail and thats fine.

But it would be nice if whenever they reveal the game, they could maybe outline in detail how they're envisioning certain systems and maybe just show concept art to basically show what they're thinking. Not unlike what it sort of seems they might have done at PAX, but you know, in a way so people can actually see it.

But then you have stuff like "making decisions matter", thats pretty much total fluff until we can actually play the game. Not unlike how ME3 was claimed to have 16 endings and so forth- no one is going to know whether or not thats BS until you can sit down and play the game.

That only happened because TOR is subscription based and would presumably give EA boatloads of money. So unless DA3 is monetized to hell and back with microtransactions, subscriptions and so forth, it'll likely be pushed out early next year, by the end of March 2013, just like the last 3 BioWare games have been.

Given the direction of much cRPG developments, it's not surprising today. But I sure would have been surprised 15 years ago, or when it was I ran into BG, if I had been told they would devolve RPGs into the most simple console romps, with movie clips as only excuse.

I don't come here as often as I should, but I wanted to say thank you to those that gathered and posted what information they could. It's really appreciated.

Thank you so much for the info!

...was there any mention of race choices returning, by any chance?

So basically there was no announcement whatsoever, and it wasn't even confirmed that DA3 would even be made? o.O

Not sure I'm liking the old favorites part.  Someone like Cullen would be ok, but if they bring back people like Anders, then just...no.

Actually, I'd like Anders to return and play a prominent role again.
Could turn him into a "just can't stay dead character"

Just imagine, playing Dragon Age 6, an octagenarian Anders walks up to you "Hey, I heard you like Templars, die fiend!", you slit his throat, Anders dead. Sure and well alive in DA7 along with some more handwaving.

From what I've gathered, they're touting such amazing ideas as "choices that matter" and "customizable armor" for their future game(s).

So basically we'll able to do what we already could in Origins. >.>;

Well, at least we can be happy for that. I'm still going to wait until it's out and been thoroughly reviewed before I start getting hyped. I dont want to set myself up for disappointment again.

I liked the way they're doing companion armor. Small changes which can evolve into an overall big change.

It seems is the only thing they developed during this last year. In 2011 the announcements at the PAX panel were pretty much the same. More agency for character and player, more costumization, bigger world, no more reused areas etc.

I hope this doesn't mean that in the last year the DragonAge team was disbanded and its members were working on other projects. I hope this means that bioware is working so hard on the next DragonAge game that they can't loose time putting up sparkling presentations for the shows.

We're still all working on Dragon Age. When we have something substantial to show, we will! Until then, not a lot we can talk about.

Don't suppose... it was just to show how the same armor would look different on 2 distinct characters. there is no small hints in there...
