Anyone that could run me down the best possible Tank PC based on Race, Origin, Specs, Builds, Stats, Skills, etc.?

If it matters, I haven't played the Noble Origins (bot Human & Dwarf) and Dalish Origin. I'm a PS3 player (no mods).
Thanks :D

By tank, I assume you mean the character that can best handle the most people attacking it and mitigating damage as best possible? Or is your idea of a best tank the one who can also deal good damage?

First one I asume, as the term Tank was derived from the RL's Tank's resistance :D

Sword / Shield warrior with Templar / Champion specializations... use Knight Commander's Armor, The Spellward (amulet), Ancient Elven Gauntlets (from Urn quest), Lifegiver ring (from Orzammar) and some +magic resistance runes in the Keening Blade (Unbound quest). Focus on the Str and Dex needed for all Sword / Shield talents, dump points into Con beyond that. Get Warrior talents up to Bravery and Taunt. You'll end up with 100%+ magic resistance, good armor and defense, decent damage output, a lot of health and can pretty much stand toe to toe with anything in the game. (like being surrounded by 40 werewolves and they all only do 1 damage per attack! on nightmare!)

^ You didn't mention Race. Is the Dwarf's 10% Magic dodge important?

Um, not necessarily. Since you can so easily get to 100% magic resistance with any character, you don't _need_ it. I'm not sure if it is actual magic resistance (the same kind you get from items), or it somehow overlaps with magic resistance. Regardless, it is unnecessarily redundant.

Ah, I see. Where is the Knight Commander's Armor? Where is the The Spellward?

No points in the Templar/champion talents then? or is there anything really good to take there?
Wanting to go for Dwarf Shield Warrior in the next playthrough, never had a warrior beyond lvl 7.

I'd put 3-4 points into Champion and 1-4 points into Templar, but that's an issue of personal preference. The main reason to take Templar is for the Knight Commander's Armor.

templar/reaver also look quite good imo, the heal is cheap and can come handly, and the horror thing seem to work on most mobs and have a pretty decent duration... it also boost tank taunts that is never bad

Ok, if I'm going Templar / Champion, what 2nd spec should I give to Alistair in case I want 2 Tanks but add versatility to him, Reaver or Berserker?

Not sure why you would even need Alistaire.

*SPOILERS*

Well, maybe I'll spare Loghain and get rid off him, lol.

*SPOILERS END*

It wouldn't hurt to have him be a bit different, just in case, no?

Personally, I am enjoying my Arcane Tank. Arcane Warrior build, wearing massive armor. A few sustained spells to boost defense, a few area effect spells to build aggro. Possibly add in some blood mage to make mana management easier. It's an interesting playstyle that takes a lot of micromanagement, but I find it fun to play.
