Why should I Pre-Load Mass Effect 3?

You will be able to pre-load Mass Effect 3 in Origin beginning Friday, March 2 (for more precise times based on your region, please check help.ea.com/article/mass-effect-3-release-schedule). This offers several advantages:

• You will be able to download the game ahead of the launch date. This will save time when the game becomes available to unlock, unpack, and install.
• In the case of Mass Effect 3, a day-one patch is required before playing on launch day, but this patch is already included in the pre-load data. That means you will be ready to play an up-to-date version immediately upon release.

There are size restrictions.  You can't just have people download 1 or 2 gigs of data as what happens if they don't have a harddrive?

Yeah, I noticed this also.

Another thing, I just brought up origin on my PC and it ALSO updated to a newer beta version. Looks like they are getting it ready.

OT -- at the same time origin auto-updated to a newer version of my installed BF3 downloading a 4 GB update!!

Um... the game went gold two weeks ago.... of course, there will be a day 1 patch. When a game goes "gold" it pretty much locks in the build that they had at the time. All bug squashing and last minute fixes since then always go in a day 1 patch.

You're hilarious.
You realize how much of an uproar the endings have caused, right?
I have a feeling that a HUGE portion of ME3 players will be unsatisfied with the ending. While it's only a sampling, I know, there's a thread over the endings with 6200 replies and it's been out for just over two days. Wait til more people hear about it or play the game.

Prothean is a paid DLC. You really think they would require people to buy DLC in order to play the base game? SInce the Day 1 patch will be required to play the game

Of course I don't believe it for a minute, but then I'm waiting until the game comes out to find out if the leaks are real or BS, so...

I really hope this patch goes to 360, as well, especially if its the LI thing. I never got to talk to Shale in the epilogue because the 360 version got screwed when it came to quality assurance.

Being a day-1 patch, it should be for all 3 platforms.
