We should also not forget the MS leak that left bioware burnned. So, maybe it is the way bioware strikes back at the pirates for causing them that nightmare?Adragalus wrote...
I actually did't think of it that way, huh. Most of the stuff I've heard has been "maybe they removed the endings to troll pirates, which makes no sense.Jackal7713 wrote...

Unless the endings where already done and they took the good ones out so people who got the space editions could not leak the good or happy endings.balancer wrote...
dont, think its a new ending no way they can make that in a couple of days. what i do hope is that it will patch the rumored glitch/bug with the face imports(for xbox) so that you dont need to start from scratch with your shepards face and also the ending flashback from your li. that are my main concerns. i dont mind the endings
This? Somewhat more so.

Why do I know this? Because there are still a great portion of console gamers out there who don't have their 360s or PS3 hooked up for online.
As much as I would like to believe it, I don't think they're going to have a game out there with two different endings depending on whether or not you can get online, just to "throw people off."

PUT THE MAKER-DAMNED PATCH ON GAME ENTITLEMENTS PRIOR TO MARCH 6, THAT WAY ORIGIN WILL NOT DIE A HORRIBLE DEATH WHEN ME3 COMES OUT!

But then why are they keeping slient on the forum and doing interviews saying "don't worry about the endings"? After launch the backlash would be fueled by these misleading interviews and quotes. It would end up doing more harm then good.BobbyTheI wrote...

If I was trying to prevent piracy/leaks, I would try a method to lock out the endings so that they needed a unlock patch at launch. You kill two birds with one stone.Kanmuru wrote...
Maybe this is a new DRM policy!!!! lol New endings only for legal and new copies of the game xD

Most people will be angry with the ending. I didn't hate or doubt Bioware at all but the ending don't leave me with a feel of accomplishment.
I'm sorry , but, "the ending" ? That doesn't sound right. My ME3 story hasn't yet begun, so its ending isn't set, I'd think.
Are you sure you already hate all the endings? I'm pretty sure had someone leaked a random ME2 ending showing garrus and tali dying, people would've gotten upset aswell. I haven't read any spoilers, so I wouldn't know. I'm just comforted by the fact that you hate "the ending", so it sounds rather pointless to read anything into it
Patch will most likely contain MP balancing, which the devs have been mentioning and even opened a sticky for (nothing in it yet). Also I expect some bugs to be fixed that were found in the demo. There were a few. And a few MP problems like falling through the world - would love to see that getting fixed. And the missing hotkeys is confirmed to be fixed.
You haven't been here at the spoilers forum very long, have you? We've already seen numerous pics, videos, etc. confirming everything about the endings.

I don't get the fact that people just keep the info they don't want scanned on a external HD and just unplug if you think you going to get scanned? There are programs out there that will tell you if a program is looking for access. Little snitch is just one of those programs.Obro wrote...
Well day 1 patches today are almost always there. As for what they are patching I have no idea. Probably just some excuse to have Origin scan your pc.

There was 360 UK mag artical that said something to that effect posted feb 28th 2012. There was also a twitter post someone put up from @masseffect. I think they are in " So we can't get the eding we want after all?" However with all the topics I've been reading I can't say that its there for certain. But I did read it in one of ending threads today.crimzontearz wrote...

I liked it too, as a stand-alone game.
But the story had almost nothing to do with 1, it's like they forgot most of the things that happened there, the aliens were different, on PC it was a cheat-fest because there was no protection in the first days and it had some overpriced and very close to each other DLC releases.
In the end, I felt like I had been ripped off.
If you didn't, that's good for you.

It's probably a bit of DRM + bug fixes.Mr.House wrote...
That fact that you can't play the game without the patch leads me to believe this is not just a simply quick bug fix.
Though if it were a high rez texture pack for the PC, I'd be pleased.

While I also doubt that the patch has anything to do with the ending (it's probably just a bug squasher), I wouldn't put it past a modern gaming company to include a DRM-like download that unlocks certain game content for players with a legitimate, new copy. They've been trying to figure out a way of squashing used sales of console copies for a while, this would just be the logical next step. I don't think they care much about people who aren't online.
But as others have pointed out, I don't think this patch will change anything substantial. If ending changes were incoming, they probably would have said something to dispel the hate. Even if was just a little hint like, "you may be pleasantly surprised on the 6th..." It does them no good to have hate build up to epic proportions that it has.

That's typical Red Carpet/PR talk. In that world, not yes = "no". This is an obvious ploy to plant false seeds of hope and prevent more pre-order cancellations (like mine) until it is too late and you're stuck with a game that separates Shepard from everyone he cares about forever no matter what you do.
