I wonder, Goodman Woo. If I put up four asterix symbols (like so: ****) is that considered swearing?
Just curious, you understand.

Replay ME1 and ME2! That's what i'm doing, it's awesome. I also noticed I never completed ME1 on insanity so I fired up my femshep Adept and I'm throwing singularities and warps like a pro in no time.

I didn't really like the demo of ME3 but it had Wrex and Garrus and Liara and Ashley and it just made want to play ME1 all over again. Such awesome characters.

I mean, like, you could, you know, socialize and stuff?!

We Europeans get to wait another two or three additional days, depending on where we live. It's not worth the fuzz.

I'm wondering this too. Parden me, I'm new here and can't tell if this is a joke. Pretty stupid if it's not.

I have always wondered why swearing in a forum for an M rated game is such a big deal.. Especially BF3, there is swearing in the trailers they posted there lul

Even censored swears are not allowed? I'm sorry, but that's hilarious. Especially on a board with a core audience of 17+.

I am pretty sure that we've all played Mass Effect and have heard of the bad vocabulary words. Do not understand this censorship.

Because moralist groups throw hissyfits for exposing their precious children to verbal filth. So to keep such groups off their backs its either set viewing age to 17/18 for the forums, or just ban swearing. Also banning swearing has the side benefit of giving the mods an extra excuse to ban trolls.

this, of course, has the hilarious unintended side effect of people creatin NEW swears to get around that

I propose Snugglebunnies be from here on considered the most vulgar word one can use!!!

I have a paper to write.

But i'm a wordsmith, writing papers is...a joke for me, the 4 page paper i need to write will take less than an hour of research, about 15 minutes to write and another five to revise.

Maybe

maybe i should try doing some kind of freakish me1 and me2 speed play through.

i could telivise it.

I remember being a white supremacist Internet forum once. Swearwords were automatically censored, but racial epithets weren't. Talk about priorities.

What was it like being a forum like that?

Did people write all over you? Did it make you feel bad?

Nah, I just pretended to be a black guy to troll people. They are a more friendlier bunch than what most people imagine them as. Most of them just don't like people of color. That's it. And they say it as plain as day.

If I can't convince my professors to allow me to skip busywork I fail the course.. I refuse to do busy work. It doesn't happen very often though, i usually look at the sylabus and go by and speak to the professor about their grading ruberic at the begining of the semester and drop the class if they're going to be a douche bag about it.

I love nothing more in the world that a grading ruberic that looks like the following

Minor Paper one: 5%
Mid term: 40%
Minor Paper two: 5%
Term Paper: 10%
Final: 40%

A quick response, then please let's get back on topic:

1. Our game's rating has no bearing on the kind of language that's acceptable in our forums. Forum discussion should be rated PG. Not even PG-13, PG--no swearing, no nudity, no sexual content, etc. "Halfway" bad words such as "hell" and "damn" are permitted here.

2. The forum's language filter doesn't negate the fact that you used inappropriate language. It removes the language from view. You'll notice that, even on television, programs that warn against "coarse language" are still full of bleeped out words.

3. Your personal tolerance or intolerance for certain language or content does not change our rules. We feel our rules are a good compromise between freedom of expression and restraint.

4. Based on our rules, we can ban people for anything at anytime, even for no reason at all. We do not need extra justification to do what we could do with impunity anyway.

5. Non-offensive and fictional swearing is generally allowed. BS, mofo, SOB, effing, fracking, frelling, crap, poop, and WTF are normally okay. GTFO and STFU are not, because they are used to attack others.

now, back on topic, please.

Well, they were pretty civil to say the least. "White people are more intelligent than black people, and there are many studies proving this."

Depends on the forum, though. National Vanguard forums are nastier than Stormfront.
