I wonder, Goodman Woo. If I put up four asterix symbols (like so: ****) is that considered swearing?
Just curious, you understand.

Asterix symbols? Like from the comic? Because it wasn't the first to introduce symbol swearing: @#$& !!!

Asterix symbols. Like from the keyboard.

Er...
It's asterisk, with "k".

Just to note that when the whole racist theme began to emerge on this post, I actually reported to the mods and asked them to do something about the inflammatory nature of some of the posters on this thread, but none of the mods replied. I have to say that I am extremely disgusted at Bioware's hypocrisy - they state, at the top of the forum, how they will have a "zero tolerance policy on any form of abuse towards staff, moderators or other Community members", yet they have done nothing to moderate or issue warnings to people who have posted racist commentaries on this thread.

They probably didn't see this yet, but don't worry, they will be here soon enough.

They'll see it and still do nothing about it.

A quick response, then please let's get back on topic:

1. Our game's rating has no bearing on the kind of language that's acceptable in our forums. Forum discussion should be rated PG. Not even PG-13, PG--no swearing, no nudity, no sexual content, etc. "Halfway" bad words such as "hell" and "damn" are permitted here.

2. The forum's language filter doesn't negate the fact that you used inappropriate language. It removes the language from view. You'll notice that, even on television, programs that warn against "coarse language" are still full of bleeped out words.

3. Your personal tolerance or intolerance for certain language or content does not change our rules. We feel our rules are a good compromise between freedom of expression and restraint.

4. Based on our rules, we can ban people for anything at anytime, even for no reason at all. We do not need extra justification to do what we could do with impunity anyway.

5. Non-offensive and fictional swearing is generally allowed. BS, mofo, SOB, effing, fracking, frelling, crap, poop, and WTF are normally okay. GTFO and STFU are not, because they are used to attack others.

now, back on topic, please.

Woo, you get points for that.

That go'se is awesome.

Yeah? Us EU folks have to wait till next Friday. for it. :pinched: Meh, I can wait longer. As much as I seriously want this game it's not a life or death situation. I have other more important stuff to do. Though it'll be mine on launch regardless.

As I remember it, there is a US-rule that sets the forum age to be 13 (for all US based forums?). The old ME3 forums had 18+ age, as I remember it. I like the forum rules, and I didn't know that hell and danm were allowed here. However, there is normal englihs called a nut which means something you eat or something you use to fasten something with. In other PG-forums we're not allowed to use the words hell and damn - not that I'll use them anyway.

Also this:
Banning someone for no reason at seems to be extremely harsh, and I do hope that Bioware do not do this at all.

Back on topic:

I'm anxious for the weekend as well, and I'm anxious for the game as well. I don't have the money to buy the game as of yet, but will certainly one day. So the weekend won't be that long for me. However, I'm anxious to see the reviews for the game...

Although it seems harsh at first glance, i bet that if you tell someone to leave your home you'd like him to do it.

I think he's not saying he'll ban anyone for no reason, but he's making a point. "You're at my home, abide by my rules" which is fair.
