This is a major upgrade to the system IMO. I wonder if his example of ordering an orbital strike on a population center to prevent the reapers from making husks is true. Thats a huge decision!

Hey, does anyone know if there's an option to turn off morality notifications in-game?

I already though it'll work that way. Still, it's nice to have confirmation

Phantoms are modelled after Leng, the only difference being that Leng uses a hidden toothbrush for his OSOK special instead of the usual katana.LumpOfCole wrote...
Will Kai Leng have an omniblade / toothbrush decision in the game?

For the confused, notice how the Par/Ren bar is offset and fits within the larger outlined bar with the scale markings. That larger bar is your general rep. When you gain general rep the offset P/R bar is scaled up. When you've scaled up to the point where your P/R bar has hit a new scale marking, more dialog options will be available to you.

So other than personal satisfaction, is there any effect for having more of one (paragon/renegade) than the other? One of the things that I really liked about DA2 was that your personality choices did not effect gameplay, but they did alter the tone of your character in cinematic scenes where you had no control over dialogue. I am wondering if something like that will happen here.

This is perfect. Thank you. I had to exploit glitches for my pro-human, anti-alien Shepard in order to have enough paragon and renegade points in order to get the dialogue options I wanted. I won't have to cheat like that in Mass Effect 3.
I was also somebody who really didn't like getting those renegade points in Mass Effect 2. So it's good to hear that will be taken care of. I just hope the marginal amount of renegade points I gained in Mass Effect 2 won't show up as renegade points in Mass Effect 3. I'd rather not see red on the bar at all with my main Shepard.

Well that should make the renegon/paragade people happy. I like the innovation, even if as an almost entirely straight Paragon player (almost, Sidonis is still dead) it probably won't change the way the game works for me much.

No penalties any more? I'm not the type for loud proclamations of joy, but here you have it:

Thanks for posting this. I now am more prepared for ME3! From just reading about it, the reputation system sounds great for those who play mix of paragon and renegade (renegon!), as well as those who play paragon or renegade.
So thanks for the elaboration, and only few more days until ME3 comes out! Yay!

You’ll be banking on your reputation to save planets and gain alliances, not to get a better deal on snow tires.
There’s no penalty for mixing Paragon and Renegade
Sounds like a big improvement from the previous Paragon/Renegade system.

Rendering the protips on the loading screen useless, how on earth are you gonna shoot that toothbrush out of his hand?

This is a very interesting change. I suppose I'll still end up a diehard Paragon, but the new system lets me keep my options which is nice.

Andrew Shepard? My Shep looks nothing like that!
OT: a great change to the system. Much more freedom of choice.

The picture is definitely something to do with miranda. Remember how she was saying she was her fathers genetic legacy? calling it now!
