I am stuck in the guard armor disguise, wih no autosave for move then 20 hours previous. I know there have been multiple topics on this, but they look like they have been deleted. Is bioware doing anything about this bug, and why did the delete the topic about it yesterday?

Just hit that bug, too. Fortunately my last save was from two hours ago, just before starting this sequence.
The simplest solution is to decline putting on the guard armor disguise in the first place -- you get a bunch of extra fights but not very tough ones.

Same bug here. Someone mentioned it's caused by aggroing some npc's with a spell before the switch back to normal armor... think I did that on my mage with the miasma spell (think it hit them through the closed door).

When does this happen? The only time I know is whithin a certain quest (don't want to say more, no spoilers) and when you get the armor there is a tooltip: To get rid of the disguise you need to speak to the person who gave you the disguise or enter combat (be discovered so to speak).
What I don't understand here is why you're stuck with the armor because at the end of the quest there is a situation you cannot avoid and it should automatically take the disguise off of your character...

There is a thread here
in which a Bioware rep (first page) has stated
In my case however, all my saves were after I came back upstairs and there was no way to remove the disguise. I have posted a very lame half workaround that can get the chestpieces off of the other two party members who weren't thrown into jail with you in the other thread. It was the best I could do without going to console as others have posted there to strip off the disguise armour.

When you first enter the dungeon of the Arl of Denerim's estate you can use an area of effect spell on the guards on the opposite side of a door, doing this will prevent a dialog from triggering which would remove your disguise. If this is what has happened it seems like the fastest way to get your armour back would be to reload before this encounter and trigger the dialog. If this isn't what happened please let us know.

I have the exact same problem. And I can't reload before entering the Arl of D.'s estate. This stinks.

same problem for me to. stuck int he dam disguise armor. played through the arl castle. surrendered to the chick after getting the queen out escaped from the fort and went back to the eamon's estate and still had it on. can't just "talk" to the queen maid to take of the armor like it says you can. she doesn't have any dam dialogue. this on top of the dam memory leek makes this game extremely annoying.

Yeah this is a total crapper... I wish I would've seen this coming, because I'm one of the sneaky players who uses a mage to cast area-of-effect spells like Tempest and Inferno from behind a door.
I've heard someone say that the console code deletes the armor you had on originally, and I don't want to do that because I have items like the drakeskin armor set. : /
Not cool.
