Do you think DLC might retcon the ending?

We can all agree, ME3 has ****ty endings (If the spoilers are true) and it's quite visible on the community.
This ending is quite the ****storm, I haven't seen any positive response towards it whatsoever.

The idea of being forced into an incredibly ****ty ending reminds me of Fallout 3... which got me wondering. Do you think Bioware will ever retcon the DLC like F03 did with "Broken Steel"?

This ending has got the community in such an uproar, I'm really interested to see how Bioware responds to all the hate.

if they retcon the endings i trade the game in you don't beat something like the reapers and get some half-assed ending with flowers and rainbow and they live happily ever after.

I can't see Bioware ever retconning a new ending, no.

I fear that the DLC might suck even more, in terms of writing. But who knows.

Retcon isn't necessary. Just an alternative where Shepard and the crew/LI stay together would be nice. Just ONE alternative...

The DLC can only take place before the ending, so my question is, what play the DLC for?

I almost guarantee it, but it won't be anything like 'happy ending dlc'. It will be like ME2, with several story DLCs:

- Story mission
- Story mission
- Major story mission

At the end, the last major story mission gives an alternate ending. Surprise! Thanks for your money. And the extra time. To figure out how to end this.

Only 5?  That would be generous of them.  Watch, it will cost $25.

And, remember, folks, the end of Fallout 3 was THE END (until it wasn't)

I can't believe I'm saying this but if the endings that have been circulating are real, I'd pay for an alternate which is better than the supposed stupid crap we're getting. However even if the endings we've seen aren't all the endings I'm done buying EA and BioWare games. In fact i'm actually considering quitting gaming as a whole, it seems everyone is only interested in money these days.

Bethesda did it for FO3, so...maybe.

It'd be cool if it did, and only the bad endings were leaked as misinformation.

We know there is going to be a day 1 patch, but nobody knows what it's supposed to be for.

Maybe slightly. Not enough to make it a good ending.

So this is all some elaborate plot by EA/BW to milk more money from its customer base...well with all the pre-order garbage nothing would surprise me at this point.

I know but this is the second time this crap happens with a game I like a lot, first it was the Tom Clancy titles and now it looks appears that Mass Effect (if those are the only endings) and Dragon Age are headed that way.

All it would take is for the Normandy to crash on Earth instead of being inexplicably zapped to Nowheria with all hands on board. I'm not paying sixty bucks for an unavoidable "Lost with incest" ending. What are they doing out at the Charon Relay when the fight is back at Earth, anyways?

As much as I would like a good ending option (if one truly doesn't exist), I don't see it ever happening. The DA2 freak-out was mostly ignored last year, and this probably will be too.

What you mean to say is "This ending has got this community in an uproar." If nothing is said beyond this community nothing will happen.

The endings are an excellent conclusion to Shepard's Story and open up all sorts of possibilities for the future. I didn't think Bioware had the guts to go through with somethin like this, but I was pleasantly surprised. I like the endings, don't see the need for an alternative.

I highly doubt we're going to get any endings other than those that are shipped with the game.

Best we can do is hope there are either more endings than have been leaked, or that somehow the information is inaccurate.
